Dusty Desert Planet

Desert Planet Survival

Description
Planet mod Inspired by Tatooine with unique terrain and ambience. Surface primarily consists of sands and rocks, oppressed by a scorching climate.

The planet has no water or ice, but rich with ores both beneath the surface and in the rocks. Get ice from Moisture Vaporators.

A lot of open space covered with deserts.

No binary sunset included, sorry about that.

Recommended size: from 90km to 120km (At 120 you might feel a little like an ant near giant mountains and sandseas).

UPDATE 5: Sandstorms
Weather is implemented now thanks to our man Tiuss

UPDATE 4: Bugfixes & update
Updated the planet to latest game engine definitions. Now it has ores, textures, biomes and clouds again.

UPDATE 3: Ores!!!
With the latest game update Keen fixed the mat maps issue, so I updated our sweet dusty world. Now it has ORES UNDER THE SURFACE as it should had have from day 1.

UPDATE 2: Workaround for the game not loading materials and biomes map texture bug.
Ok, now the planet has fairly correct surface materials. Still, the planet can't have any ore under the surface, so I put a lot of resource rocks above it.

UPDATE 1: Now with ambient sounds!
Just made a perfect Day/Night ambient sound for different areas. Sounds totally like Tattoine. Try not to lose your mind.

Thumbs up to support the project!

Attention! Testers needed!

Known bugs:

- Sandstorm clouds dont look well when you get close to the planet. Will be fixed.

- No proper ambient sounds. I think I'll find some in Star Wars games to add. Now there is sound.

- The originas SE Desert voxel material gets weirdly lightened. Will be fixed soon by creating a substitute material for that biome.

- No ores under the surface. This is a game bug which doesn't allow game to load material, biome and occlusion maps from the published mods. Fixed.

@SlowpokeFarm The Apex survival update changed how weather acts (storms can do personal damage), different types of radiation was added to the game, a food/hunger system was also added. I love your Planet and

@Syrius hi there, I made this mod like 10 years ago and don't really remember the definitions, but afaik it should have Platinum in random stones on the surface, not as ore veins. But I might be mistaken here.

Looked through your DustyDesertPlanet.sbc, found the planet does not have Platinum as a spawn at all.

Might want to add that to the planet has no x list as well in the description.

Atmo being 1.0 will allow the Rover to spawn in (can't spawn under 0.9 atmo).

From what I was reading on Echthros's Discord workshop planets are potentially broken (with RSS)?.

Echthros:
As far as I can tell, it's only affecting premade worlds made before the latest update that people start with. The deserialization of the save data is failing because the format got updated and the Config that normally would be used as a backup doesn't get copied for some reason. If you build your own or are going off an existing save, it should update fine. It's only new saves made from workshop worlds having issues, from what I can see.

This is why I was asking if it's working with Apex / + RSS

Hi SlowpokeFarm, I have a question. I'm currently creating a new SE scenario, which I'd like to make available to our community on a dedicated server once it's finished. I'd like to include your DustyDesert planet in this scenario, because they turned out pretty cool. I hereby request permission to use your planet and, if necessary, to modify it and to upload it to the workshop.

i think i know a good default size to set this planet as
tatooine is 10.465km, too small
lets move that decimal place so its now 104.6km
