How to Fix Jumping Shadows (Sun shadow updates)
By Bruh
A quick .ini fix to the ugly and immersion-breaking teleporting shadows that occur every time the game updates the Sun's position.

The Solution
1) Go to Documents/My Games/Fallout4 and open Fallout4.ini with either Notepad or Notepad++.
2) Find this line: fSunShadowUpdateTime=1.0
3) Change it to fSunShadowUpdateTime=10 (or any number higher than the default; just test it out)

This simply increases the time it takes to update the shadows, for a much slower and smoother animation. You won't even notice the shadows changing anymore unless you stare at them.

Enjoy!

They changed the .ini file to Fallout4Prefs, unless I'm looking in the wrong place and they change it so there is no fSunShadowUpdateTime anymore?

Cheers mate, tried it out and it's a nice fix for it. It was bugging me from the beginning, especially in the cities where there's so many rooftop silhouettes! :pinkteam:

@tyrenberg No, it does not affect the day-cycle or time scale, it just makes the shadows update more smoothly (no jerking). It should work with any time scale settings.

This does not break anything with the day-cycle? Just the transitioning?
