Mages - A Better Rewards and Treasure Mod

In 1 collection by sp0ckrates
Better Rewards and Treasure Collection
13 items
Description
Gives you enchanted robes and hoods, enchanted daggers, magic staffs as loot and payment for quests!
If there's one class that almost always gets the short end of the staff, it's the mage. With the exception of the College of Winterhold quests, rewards paid to mages and treasure looted by them are more often then not two-handed weapons or heavy armor they'll never use! Well, this mod should fix that.

Now when you receive rewards for completing quests or find treasure in chests, instead of useless armor, you'll get enchanted mage robes, spell tomes and sometimes enchanted mage hoods. Now instead of two-handed and one-handed weapons, you'll be rewarded with and discover loot consisting of magic staffs, daggers, enchanted daggers and magic scrolls.

But wait! There's more: The gold rewarded for completing quests is now increased by 20%! For example, if you would normally be paid 250 gold for completing a quest, you will now be paid 300 gold. It's a little bonus for your hard work, because you're worth it!

The mod does NOT change the weapons used and armor worn by NPCs. It just changes those found in the chests they guard. It also doesn't change armor and weapons sold by merchants and fences. Rewards for completing the College of Winterhold quests also remain the same. It's a simple mod, but one I find useful. I hope you'll like it too! If you do, please consider rating it. If you have any questions about the mod, please ask. If you would like mods made for other classes, please let me know. Other mods in this collection are here:

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q. What will the mod do for me?
A. It will make it far more likely that your mage character will get the enchanted robes and hoods, magic staffs, enchanted daggers, spell tomes and magic scrolls he or she needs. So you spend less time selling useless armor and weapons and more time having fun doing quests!

Q. What clothing will the mod give me?
A. The same enchanted hoods you have to buy at the College, and leveled enchanted robes for every magic school.

Q. What weapons will the mod give me?
A. Leveled magic staffs for every magic school, as well as daggers and enchanted daggers.

Q. What else will the mod give me?
A. Leveled spell tomes and magic scrolls for every magic school. Do enough quests and you won't have to buy any!

Q. How will I get them?
A. You'll receive them as rewards given for completing quests and as treasure looted from chests during quests.

Q. What will I not receive as rewards and not find as loot?
A. Enchanted and unenchanted light armor, heavy armor and shields, as well as enchanted and unenchanted maces, war hammers, swords, great swords, war axes and battle axes.

Q. Will the Items in shops change too?
A. No, the enchanted items sold by shopkeepers, blacksmiths and vendors will remain the same.

Q. What about the enchanted items received during Daedic quests?
A. These remain the same.

Q. What about other special enchanted items?
A. Named armor and weapons also remain unchanged.

Q. What about rewards for the College quests?
A. These will also remain the same, but there will be more loot you can actually use!

Q. Why am I still finding some armor, one-handed and two-handed weapons in chests?
A. If you've already started a quest, the game might have already filled the chest. The chests for new quests should have things a mage will use.

Q. What will happen if I unsubscribe?
A. The rewards and loot for new quests will return to normal. You find a lot less magic robes, staffs and such and a lot more armor, one-handed weapons and two-handed weapons.

CHANGING THE LOAD ORDER

So if you are subscribed to other BRAT mods that change loot and rewards, you should make sure this mod is last (at the bottom) of the load order in Skyrim. Changing the load order is easy. Just do this:
  1. When you start Skyrim, don't select Play right away.
  2. Wait for the Skyrim splash screen to display the message that all mods updated.
  3. Select Data Files.
  4. Select this mod.
  5. Use the down arrow button to move it to the bottom of the list of mods.
  6. Make sure it still has a checkmark next to it.
  7. Select OK and Play.

The game should now use the changes to rewards and treasure of the mod you moved to the bottom of the list. Good spell casting!

When I switched from Mage to Malee and deactivated/deleted Mages- A Better reward and Treasure mod. I still just get Mage items in chests. How do I go back to normal Treasure in chests?

I see that AQW hood. You thought you were sneaky

I went to do a No-Magic No-Enchanting No-Scrolls Staves-Only Sometimes-Melee-Weapons Spellword playthrough, but all I got were these lousy scrolls and no staves whatsoever (by level 3 so far). Just a fair warning to those interested in this mod that perhaps getting staves in loot is nearly impossible at low levels.

Metal Gear Spy I was thinking the same thing. I was like "Oh is that from Adventure Quest Worlds?"

Mr Robot: No need to. On the Skyrim launch screen, select Data Files and move this mod to the bottom. The one at the bottom overwrites changes made by the ones above.
