Description
Setup containing the SanGuoSha (SGS) or Legend of the Three Kingdoms (LTK) with Several Expansion Heroes. No Demi-Cods are in this set, additional cards will be added in updates.

Copy Role Cards and Counter as needed to accommodate for number of players in your game. Additional Cards can be found in the Extras bag.

3 Players = 1 monarch, 1 rebel, and 1 turn-coat
4 Players = 1 monarch, 1 rebel, 1 turn-coat, and 1 minister
5 Players = 1 monarch, 2 rebel, 1 turn-coat, and 1 minister
6 Players = 1 monarch, 3 rebel, 1 turn-coat, and 1 minister or 1 monarch, 2 rebel, 2 turn-coats, and 1 minister
7 Players = 1 monarch, 3 rebel, 1 turn-coat, and 2 minister
8 Players = 1 monarch, 4 rebel, 1 turn-coat, and 2 minister or 1 monarch, 3 rebel, 2 turn-coats, and 2 minister
9 Players = 1 monarch, 4 rebel, 1 turn-coat, and 3 minister
10 Players = 1 monarch, 4 rebel, 2 turn-coats, and 3 minister

Monarch and Minister Victory = All Rebels and Turn-Coats are dead
Rebel Victory = Monarch is dead
Spy Victory = All players are dead but the Monarch was last to die

SETUP:
1. Copy Roles to accomodate for players as stated above, then randomly deal out/randomly pick the role cards. Do not let other players see your role card. Only the Monarch is to reveal his card.
2. The Monarch picks from the either the 4 Basic Monarchs in Standard Play or includes Expansion Monarchs. The Monarch can chose from 2 random non Monarch Heroes as well.
3. Shuffle the remaining Hero cards together and deal 3 random Heroes to the remaining players. After picking, everyone will display their Hero cards face up. If the remaining monarch cards were dealt to other players, they may choose to play the character but will not be able to use the monarch ability.
4. Health is determined by the tear shaped symbol on the Hero cards (located on top left of card or bottom right of portrait). In games with 5 or more players, the Monarch gets +1 health. Copy the counter as needed to provide one to each player and use them to display health.
5. Shuffle the playing cards (include the expansion deck if using the expansion) and deal four to each player as their starting hand. Play begins from the Monarch and rotates clockwise.

PLAY PHASES:
1. Start Phase: Some Heroes have abilities that are activated during the Start Phase.
2. Judgement Phase: Delayed Scrolls required Judgement: flipping one card that will decide whether or not the 3. Scroll will take effect. This happens before the Draw Phase.
4. Draw Phase: draw two cards.
5. Play Phase: play any amount of cards from your hand; however, only one Strike card may be played per turn (unless augmented by Hero ability or weapon). After being played, place cards in the discard pile.
6. Discard Phase: when you are done playing cards, you may only keep in your hand as many cards as you have health stones. If you have more hand cards than health stones, choose cards to discard.
7. End Phase: Some Heroes have abilities that are activated during the End Phase (after you have discarded).
If you run out of cards to draw, shuffle the discard pile and use it as the new deck.

ATTACKING:
The attacker must have adequate range in order to initiate an attack. All Heroes start with 1 range, that is, they can Strike the Heroes directly to their left or right. Weapons serve to increase your range to the value printed on the card. A Strike card must be blocked with a Dodge card or other ability, or else the attacked Hero loses a health point. Attacks cannot be warded.

DEATH:
Dying: When a Hero has 0 health, he/she must use a Peach to stay alive. At this time if the Hero does not play a Peach, other Heroes have a chance to play a Peach and revive the dying Hero to 1 health. If the Hero is not revived, he/she is dead and is no longer part of the game. The player’s role card is then revealed. If the dead player was a Rebel, the player who made the kill will draw 3 cards. If the dead player is a Minister and it was the Monarch who killed him/her, the Monarch must discard all cards both in hand and in play.

EQUIPMENT:
You may only have 1 Weapon, 1 Armor, 1 Offensive Horse, and 1 Defensive Horse in play at any time. You may replace an Equipment card with a different Equipment card of the same type, replacing a weapon is the same as destroying or losing a weapon or field card for the sake of certain character abilities.

HORSES/MOUNTS:
If you have an Offensive Horse, when You are calculating your range to another player, subtract 1 (only in effect when You are attacking). If you have a Defensive Horse, when another Hero is calculating his/her range to You, add 1 (only in effect when You are being targeted). Offensive horses can be used to increase the range of a Snatch (aka Steal, Goat Snatch) Scroll, all other scrolls have infinite range unless otherwise specified.

Some Cards Explained:
1. Peaches: Peaches serve to heal your Hero by 1 health. Peaches will not bring your health to a value higher than your starting health.

2. Lightning: Play this Delayed Scroll on your own Hero. On your next turn you will draw one card during the Judgement Phase. If you are not struck by the lightning, it passes to the next player.

3. Ward: Ward only negates the effect of a Scroll for ONE target. If a player uses Arrow Barrage, you may save ONE player (ie. yourself, your Monarch, someone you believe to be a fellow Rebel) from having to play a Dodge card in defense - all other players are affected by the Scroll normally. Wards to not negate Peaches

4. Liquor (aka Wine): expansion card. Once per play phase, you can use it to +1 life only when dying (brought down to 0 health by an attack, scroll, or ability. Alternatively, you may use a Liquor and then the damage of your next [Strike!] +1 if it lands (the defender will still only need to use 1 dodge)

5. Tap (aka Chains) - expansion card. Links 2 characters together or breaks a link. Linked Heroes are tapped sideways on the field, After a tapped Hero take elemental damage, other tapped Heroes also take the damage in turn with the same source, all the tapped heroes are then untapped.

Expansion Abilities:
1. One-off Ability - The ability can be only used once.
2. Awakening Ability - Like Passive and One-off Ability. Get a new ability in general. Black abilities will be gotten after Awakening Ability.
3. Match Point - You and the Target show a flipped hand card, then show it at the same time. The hero with a greater point wins.
4. Flip Hero - Before a Hero's turn, if he/she is flipped, he/she skip the turn and flip the Hero. The hero can still be targeted by attacks/abilites and can dodge attacks and negate spells dealt by other players while flipped.

Gameplay Rules, and additional translations or help understanding abilities can be found here: http://sanguoshaenglish.blogspot.com/2010/07/game-rules-part-1-game-set-up.html and http://sanguoshaenglish.blogspot.com/p/all-characters.html

Updates will be released soon that will:
1. reorganize decks
2. have scroll abilities insync
3. add new heroes

The original scans were not done by me and were taken from multiple postings online including from the above blog, Tino, and Spork. I take credit only for the setup and fixing the cards.

I would love to keep expanding the game, but I will also not have time to do so until January. I think the best place to start then would be with adding additional expansion cards. Do you have a Photoshop template that you used to create the cards?

:ccknight: Hi there, I am the author of these LTK cards. I noticed that you have improved it in your own way. I have great enthusiasm on this game while with limited time. So I am glad to cooperate with you to improve and expand it together.
