Description
*General info*
The Deadlands is a custom fantasy map with no connections to reality.
It revolves around a huge tundra in the middle of the biggest continent.
Because of the fact that most civilizations do not have a starting bias that makes them start near a tundra (bar Sweden and Russia), this means that the middle of the map wil generally be uninhabited until later in the game.
It is designed as a large map (10 players), but the amount of players can always be changed in the advanced setup.

*The backstory*
The Xulthec civilization worshipped their sun, Xul. Each morning at sunrise every man, woman and child would hold hands while chanting their ancient hymns.
The giant in the sky offered them warmth and allowed their plants to grow. He influenced the tides and allowed the land to flood. He gave them light and a reason for existence.

It is not known why it happened. Maybe they didn’t chant as they should have on that fateful morning or maybe Xul was tired of his children. What we do know is that Xul sent a flare towards the planet. It charred every one of his children, the plantlife stood ablaze and the buildings were destroyed. There was nothing left of the once grand Xulthec empire, not a single brick was spared.

All that is left now is a blistered and dead land, yet life seems to be returning slowly. Has Xul once again blessed the planet with his gifts? Your people have recently discovered this area and dubbed it“The Deadlands”. They have deemed it a fitting place to start over. Can you build a civilization that can stand the test of time, or will your people fall to the wrath of Xul like the Xulthec did before them?

The wonderful art is by Steven Belledin, made for the amazing game called Magic the Gathering.

Loving this idea of fantasy maps. And the backstories are great too!

Loving the map so far. There's little bias!

I know, but I currently don't have the time to start a game, I'll add them tomorrow :)
I'm going to change the mod to private for now, there's some issues with rivers being too straight I have to fix as well.

We could use some screenshots, though.
