Description
The Deployable Repair Ship was designed and built by Engi Innovation to open and allow eight different ships to simultaneously repair and resupply, and then close to allow for greatly improved defense, if needed.

It is a resupply and repair ship designed to operate very close to battles, within enemy space, or both. It is utilized in situations where its services are greatly needed but an attack could occur at any time.

Build time: 11.5 hours

Engi Innovation is a branch of Engi Aerospace that focuses on innovative and unique engineering. Whereas typical companies and factions focus solely on regular ships and stations, Engi Innovation aims to break away from standard creations and introduce new ideas.

It is slightly incomplete; the main purpose of the design is to be a station that can move, as well as open and close.
Missing features that would generally be desirable:
-weapons
-jump drive
-crew quarters
-connectors
-interior buttons

Due to being attached by pistons, it is also incapable of controlled locomotion. It can move, but only one section at a time is able to. This could be overcome by manually grouping the respective thrusters and putting them on the hotbar, but there is no way I'm doing that!

Aside from that, the piston deployment/retraction system is fully functional albeit only with block destruction off.

Engi Innovation does not use modifications.

@The Great D.P.S.S.

Try to explain that to other people who make "stations"...

Nice idea :)

@McyD Someone already mentioned that before. When I was building this, I didn't know that that was an option.

Unless I am missing something, why not just put merge blocks between the section for when it closes up, and release them to let it open. That would group all your thrusters for movement.

:/

Right, theyre not. I was just pointing out another difference between them. The purpose of my ship being able to move is part of its design; what I mean is, for what it is intended to do, it requires the ability to deploy and retract in short periods of time. It is not merely a ship connected by pistons, but a ship connected by pistons that actually has a reason to BE connected by pistons.

Okay. (But uh stations are not meant to be mobile...)
ATMLVE  [author] 21 Oct, 2015 @ 6:56pm
The difference between that immobile station and my mobile ship, is that on the station hanger door blocks and blast door blocks are used as doors, which is their specific intended function, whereas on my ship the entire ship itself closes. This encloses the weak hanger interiors and the light armor blocks with heavy armor blocks. It not only protects the hanger interior, as on the station, but also the structure of the ship itself

The hanger doors shut in defense.

Im confused about the industrial station, how is that related?
