Ghost Followers

Gives you a ghost pal (follower) for each follower after he or she dies. Talk to the ghost and it will do everything your follower did before dying--follow you, wait, trade things with you, obey commands, leave your service, or even train you. Tell the ghost to leave, and it will walk home, continuing to live the life it did when it was alive. The ghost of each of your followers appear next to it's dead body about a minute after death. It's another mod in the Skyrim Encounters and Themes (SET) mod series.

Any NPC follower in the vanilla game will spawn a ghost if he or she dies while in your service (while following you). Other NPCs will not spawn a ghost, but see DLC Followers, below. The NPC must be your follower at the time of death. If he or she dies after leaving your service, or becomes hostile to you before you kill him or her, he or she will not spawn a ghost pal who follows you.

The ghost pals have a appearance and abilities unique to it's race:

✓ Beast Races (Argonian and Khajiit) - violet visuals, 100% resistant to poison
✓ Breton and High Elf - storm visuals, 100% resistant to shock and poison
✓ Dark Elf - fire visuals, 100% resistance to poison, 83% resistance to fire, 33% weakness to frost
✓ Imperial and Redguard - frost visuals, 100% resistance to frost and poison
✓ Nord and Wood Elf - frost and blue visuals, 100% resistance to frost and poison
✓ Orc - red rage visuals, 100% resistance to poison

This mod doesn't require any DLCs and does not spawn any ghost pals from the followers of those DLCs. But if this mod does well, I'll add ghost pals of the followers of Hearthfire, Dawnguard and Dragonborn. Adding support for the DLCs will not require users to have the DLCs. Let me know the names of the followers you want to spawn ghost pals most, please.

Yes, I can! Just ask the author of that mod to post a comment with a link to his or her mod having the follower who you want to span a ghost. I will make a ghost copy of that follower to spawn when he or she dies. Adding support for other mods will not require subscribers to have those mods.

The mod is completely safe. No changes are permanent. Disable it at any time and your ghost followers will stop haunting Skyrim. Your dead followers will remain dead, of course.

To make sure this mod loads, after subscribing, launch Skyrim, wait for the launch screen to display a message that all mods finished synchronizing, then exit Skyrim to the desktop. Relaunch Skyrim. The mod should now be loaded.


There are no known bugs. Please report any you think you find. Should be compatible with mods changing any of these followers. Mods changing the hidden quest to clean up dead bodies might not be compatible.


There's no need to unsubscribe. After subscribing, you may easily disable the mod at anytime:

1. Start the Skyrim launcher
   
2. Wait for it to display a message that mods finished synchronizing
   
3. Select Data Files
   
4. Remove the checkmark next to this mod
   
5. Select OK and Play
