What this guide is

This is a series of short videos, most of them around 5 minutes or less showing how to do do things in a pretty straight forward and direct way. I made this to help people to get past most areas of the game confortably and without wasting time with random stuff that you may not care about. Just the straight path to the boss and the boss fight, otherwise this would take many hours and no one would want to watch.

What this guide is NOT
  1. A Speedrun;
  2. A 100% completion walkthrough;
  3. How to make the best build or get the best items;
  4. A way to show off how skilled I am, because I'm just a casual player;

How the guide is divided

There are the "red numbered videos" and the "blue numbered videos". The red ones take you from the start to the first ending, and go from video #01 to #28. Then there are the blue ones, which are bonus videos showing some more stuff and even the extra ending.

The reason for that division is because I was planning on showing only SOME stuff, but after I finished the game and maxed my character I felt like killing all other bosses too, so I started recording Bonus videos just to help out some more, especially the new players.

Why I killed The Rotten 4 Times

If you have soul memory of 1.000.000 you gain access to Drangleic Castle without the need to kill all the old ones. A good fast way to do it is to use bonfire ascetics on one of them and kill him enough to get those souls.

I could have skipped No Man's Whaf and Flexile Sentry and I would still get enough souls just from The Rotten, but I figured I should show you guys both paths to The Lost Bastille since no man's Whaf is pretty fast to get through. If you want to finish the game as fast as possible, the No Man's Whaf area is completely optional (but you can skip "The Pursuer" if you choose to take the No Man's Whaf path... well at least if you don't plan on doing Memory of Orro).

Didn't think on doing that many bosses at first, or else I would come back there later like I did with all bosses after the video #28. Like I said, the guide was planned to end there initially.

Final Words

Please rate both the guide and the videos, and comment on stuff if you feel like it. That helps me to know what you guys think so I can improve for the next videos. Every feedback is welcome if you're not a troll.

Sorry about my english too. Still trying to get better.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask them. I will do my best to answer them correctly (=

Cya later bros.

Build and Gear
Until video #28

Gear:
  • Tseldora Set
  • Rapier +10
  • Staff of Wisdom +5
  • Iron Parma
  • Short Bow
Rings: Whatever I need at the time. Cloranthy Ring, Ring of Blades and Covetous Silver Serpent Ring most of the time. Especially the Covetous ring which I used ALL the time until video #28. Silvercat Ring and King's Ring for specific stuff, or when I forgot to replace them. Lol.

As you can notice, I didn't care much about HP in the beginning, because its not as useful as you would think.

Got 64 INT to be able to use the Soul Geyser, and did not care about faith.

Then, I killed that Giant Lord Boss more than 200 times I think (which I dont recommend you to do). I wanted to get to max level for fun, but I gave up in the middle of the process because I got bored. That's when I realized I should show more content and the alternate ending instead of losing time leveling to get 99 in stats I dont really need.

The main reason I think you should not power level like this is because you're not able to interact with other players online, since most of them are around lvl 150 ~ 200. I wanted to get max level just for fun but it's not worth it. Believe me (especially because it's incredibly boring).

So, from video #29 and on, my stats were these:

I leveled more or less until 1 Giant Lord Kill = 1 level. Then I stopped. No way I would kill him more than 1 time for level with like 300+ levels to go. I would need to kill him like 1000 times... no way. With the Covetous +2 ring and Tseldora set he will give you around 500k souls each time.

As you can see I leveled adaptability to 38 because I wanted around 110 agility. Since attunement helps with that you don't need to go any further than 38 adaptability to get it.

The reason for 94 attunement is to help with agility and to give me max casts.

Vitality: Just enough to fast roll with the Greatsword and Gyrm Greatshield.

Word of advice: Just level enough to use the equipment you need and upgrade it to the max. If you need more damage, go level the main weapon stat to 40. No point going for more. Then, spend points in adaptability and endurance. Adaptability is the most useful stat IMO, because it boosts your agility, which gives you more invincibility frames when you roll, and faster healing. For vitality, just enough to fast roll with your equipment. Then you should be set at lower levels. Don't power level as I did, it's not worth it.

After video #29:

Gear:
  • Greatsword +10 - Bought it from the bodyless head in shaded woods. You can get it in No Man's Whaf for free if you care enough. It's not as good as some other weapons, but it sure looks badass;
  • Gyrm Greatshield: It's damn ugly but it gives you 100% fire def, which is awesome.
  • Armor: Imported pants and gloves only. I don't care about armor, so I chose something cool. Keep Tseldora if you need souls or some heavy armor if you don't care about mobility, but you shouldn't care much about armor. Just roll away from stuff and keep a greatshield nearby and you're good.
  • Same bow and same Staff.
Rings: Started using the Ring of Giants +2 from the Giant Lord (intensity 2 and above) for some more poise.

As soon as you enter the Memory of Jeigh, on your left there is a mini staircase, go up here and grab the Bonfire Ascetic every time, and you can do it forever.
