Mk II Projector SAM Site - Planetary Defenses (w4stedspace)

Description
A player-controlled SAM Site with 12 individual launchers using gravity projectiles that can be fired in both cluster and staggered fire modes and a balanced setup to allow a very wide range of motion. Can also be customised to fire different ammunition. Part of a series of planetary defense turrets designed to be balanced under natural gravity and thus easy to use when planets come out.

Please see the video for full information :)

Other Turrets:
Gatling: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=510597443
Rocket: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=510597165

The world to accompany the attached video from my YouTube channel!

Stream: http://www.hitbox.tv/w4stedspace

Features:

Survival Ready
Ready to paste
12 Projector Based Launchers
Staggered and Cluster Fire Modes
Customisable Warheads
Full Range of Motion

Usage:

Access via Remote Control (or stick a chair on it :P)
Activate 'Program Timer'
Use Bank 1 Adv timer for Staggered Fire
Use All Fire timer for Cluster Fire
Use 'Turret Lock' to lock turret in position - this is done automatically with each shot.

If you spam the firing too fast the turret lock will mess up a bit - check the Turret Lock group and make sure Gyro Override is set to 'Off' and the Advanced Rotors are turned 'On'

@Sgt Muts So they are building but then just dropping to the ground? Either the merge blocks are turned off or there is ownership differences between your blueprint and the craft that's welding them. For this style of dumbfire projectile it's easiest to just leave the projector, welders, merge blocks etc all owned by nobody unless you have to change it, in which case make sure both ship and blueprint are owned by you.

hi love your work. im making a boomer strike jet and using a system just like this wep but even tho my merge blocks are lined up they do not link up when the holwgram one is built how did you mange to do this ?

Not really no, it'll still function on moons and in space but for planetary stuff we'll have to look to other options than gravity, which in this case it gonna mean a fairly large re-design :(

I'd like to note that when planets are released the gravity gens on board will be useless since they have stated that above a certain amount of natural gravity gravity gens will not work. any idea as to how to counter this?

This really makes me wonder more and more about wars on the surface of a planet, can you imagine an artillery gun firing at an entrenched tank, ripping the thing in half in the process as an AP/HE round lands dead on, with smaller APC's fleeing as they are slowly picked off? That'd be really neat to observe, in my opinion.

@Rickinsanatoorium gyro's is how it's done atm, I explain in the video. Using the rotors won't allow mouse control so it always has to be gyros.. could indeed make it smaller and perhaps fit more armour on it by doing so though yeah

@battlefieldaces the issue was I didn't wanna include the power needed to make the timers run, would need to find a way of putting uranium into a reactor etc.. ruin the survival nature of things. Could be done easily as you say though, if you wanted a creative version

well done

You can make the rounds bypass gravity shields or other gravity sources by using a senor to turn off the mass blocks once they have flown a certain distance.
