Ganondorf - The gerudo (civilization)

Description
Requires brave new world.

Adds Ganondorf, leader of the Gerudo as a playable civilization to the game.

UA: Gerudo might: Earn great generals 50% faster, all pre-industrial ranged units are mounted.

UU: Naginata Warrior: replaces the spearman. Stronger in combat and ignores unit terrain cost.

UB: Training grounds: replaces the barracks. +15 xp to units trained in this city, +2 production and +2 faith.


Known bugs:

1)Archer is displayed in civ selection as a unique unit due to the way the trait had to be made (Replacing ganondorf's ranged units with mounted versions). There is no way to fix this. The training grounds functions in game as normal.

2) some mods seem to conflict with my mod and prevent text from appearing upon meeting Ganondorf.

Thanks. I saw that Dr. Evil and Arnold had that problem as well.
Also I found out that adding mod support for most mod civs isn't that hard (of course, a lot depends on the specific mod). JFD in particular makes adding support easy.

@toad_004: I got that error too. What's happening is that the diplo text xml is returning an error so the whole file crashes. Which means all Gerudo-specific diplo text crashes, not just the intro text.

For me, the tags TXT_KEY_ANOTHER_EXPANSION_SERIOUS_WARNING and TXT_KEY_ANOTHER_HOSTILE_AGGRESSIVE_MILITARY_WARNING were also used by another mod civ (Dr. Eggman and Hyrule, I think) so the game gets confused. Replace the 'ANOTHER' part with something specific, like 'LEADER_GANONDORF' to fix the problem.

(A lot of mod civs seem to have this problem with the tags, and it's always those two diplo responses, which leads me to think most modders are using some kind of template. Best to check through all your mod civs, and change any "wrong" tags accordingly.)

for some reason i found that it conflicted my mod with a strange way and prevented that text from loading, had to narrow it down by checking each mod i had installed individually. was rather strange, but there may be other mods which are strangely conflicting.

Ganondorf has no intro text. When you first meet AI Ganondorf, he doesn't actually say anything, just an empty box.

@ryanjames i'm not sure, i tend to play my mods in multiplayer with my friends, and adding lua just to fix a minor load screen error, which will prevent me from using the mod in multiplayer (using the expansion2 method) doesn't seem like a worthy trade off.

Thanks for the mod, maybe one day we will see a modeled version of Ganondorf in Civ 5. Going to test your mod now. :)

Because i wanted the Gerudo units to be mounted like the horse archers (due to the horse archery range in gerudo fortress after all :P )

Why not just make the UA give +2 to movement of ranged units?
