Complete Silver Smithing

Description
Hello everyone

Yes this is another mod that allows you to craft the Silver Sword and Silver Greatsword items in the game
now many of you likely already have a mod that does this, so the question is... why should you subscribe to this mod?

Well allow me to to explain what my mod does that others may not.

First of all not only does this mod allow you to craft the Silver Sword and Silver Greatsword.. but it also gives them their own unique Silver catagory in the smithing menu when you access a forge.
The original mod I used to use to craft Silver weapons did not do this and these Silver weapons were instead craftable under miscellaneous.
This always bothered me and was actually the main reason why I created this mod.

This mod also has (in my opinion) a more immersive, realistic feeling with its crafting recipies.
I did a little research and learned that making real life Silver weapons just isnt practical due to Silver being such a weak metal.
I also learned that real life swords that contain Silver are normally made of Steel and coated with layers of Silver, this gives them the visual appeal of a Silver sword and the strength of a Steel blade.
So I have replicated this with this mod.

The recipies to craft these Silver weapons are exactly the same as their Steel counterparts with the addition of a few Silver ingots as well.
This setup seemed fair to me since Silver swords also have the same base damage as Steel Weapons with the added benefit of being extra deadly to undead enemies.

The recipies are as follows.
Silver Sword - 1 Iron Ingot + 1 Leather Strap + 2 Steel Ingots + 2 Silver Ingots
Silver Greatsword - 2 Iron Ingots + 3 Leather Straps + 4 Steel Ingots + 4 Silver ingots

Both swords require 1 Silver ingot to temper and upgrade on a grindstone bench.

Considering that I based the crafting of Silver swords in this mod similarly to how real Silver coated Steel blades are created, I decided to also add Silver Swords to the Steel Armor and Weapons perk in the Smithing Tree and also updated the name and description of the Steel perk to reflect this.

What that means is that you will need to first unlock the Steel armor and Weapons perk to be able to craft the Silver Swords.
But that also means that both the Silver Sword and Silver Greatsword will also benefit from the Steel Smithing perk.
So when you upgrade Silver Swords they will get the exact same bonus upgrade potential as Steel Swords do.
In short that means that Silver swords will always do the same base damage as Steel Swords and there is no way Steel blades will end up outclassing Silver Swords without enchantments.

Well that's about it.

I am very happy with this mod personally and its the first mod I've made besides simple makeovers.
I really hope anyone who try's this mod out likes it as much as I do.

I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to check out my mods, read through my often long rambling descriptions (I know its a bad habbit) and a special thanks to everyone who has subscribed, rated, favorited and commented on any of the mods I have created.
Thank you all soo much ^^

*Possible conflictions*
if you are running any other mods that involve the crafting of Silver swords or modification of Silver swords or the Steel Smithing Perk.. then there is the chance that this mod might conflict with those other mods.
if that is the case you may want to disable them or change the load order to potentially fix this issue.

Unfortunately no, sadly there is no Silver Dagger in the base game so that would have to be created from scratch.

That was and still is beyond my abilities tbh.

Lol I had had enough of no silver either and decided to make 1 today. CK can have you looking at the screen going "wtf where do I start?" though :) How Bethesda didn't add it with dawnguard, dragonborn or hearthfire is beyond me though

I used to think that too lol

I really depends on the kind of mod you want to make though.
All of mine are extremely simple ones to tell the truth, I certainly couldn't make anything grand like many others have.

But that's the cool thing about mods.. a good mod doesn't need to be insanely complex or time consuming to make.. sometimes it can be as simple as changing a few numbers ^^

rip man, I'm not smart enough to mod haha

I'm afraid I can't.. for some reason the creation kit doesn't work on my current PC.
Ever since I got a new computer with windows 10 I've been unable to use the creation kit.. (game assets refuse to load)

I don't know why nor how to fix it and I don't have any other tools to make mods with.. so i'm unable to make new ones or fix the vampire problem with my weight mod.

If you want to modify this mod and add in Skyforge Silver weapons and upload it as your own you're more than welcome to do it.
I don't mind at all :)

Teratus, I'm gonna add you so we can talk about this suggestion I thought of. Can you add skyforge silver weapons? Give them the same stats as the skyforge steel sword/greatsword. It would make a lot of sense, and imo I don't know why it isn't in the base game.

I'm not sure how to do that either unfortunately.. at least the recolouring bit.
I wouldn't just want to recolour another set though.. Silver weapons have their own unique style which I'd want the new weapons to have as well.
There are mods which have already done that though.. but the new Silver weapons they add don't get added to the Silver catagory this mod creates.
I would have to manually add them for the mods to be compatible but then i'd be stealing someone elses work which is not something i'm comfortable doing.
