Description

Only the bravest, luckiest and downright craziest members of the CEU Navy serve on the Jackal Frigate. All prospective crew for this vessel must have served for several tours on a Tiger Corvette, and before that, the Hawk Missile Boat. Merely surviving this long is considered a great achievement. The Jackal Frigate's tactics are simply an evolution of those of the Tiger and Hawk. Packs of Jackals approach larger enemy ships at top speed, typically from the front or rear, before switching off dampeners and shifting the orientation of the ship ninety degrees toward the enemy vessel. A split second before reaching the enemy ship, the ship's gunners begin to unleash hundreds of rockets from the 20 forward facing rocket launchers, a barrage that continues along the length of the enemy ship. This onslaught is devastating to light armour and systems, annihilating large support ships and crippling engines and weapon systems on heavily armoured warships. The distinctive marks left on surviving warships by these attacks have led to them being informally known as “the claws of the Jackal”.

Notes

Strong Against: Frigates, Destroyers (Hit and Run), Larger Warships (Hit and Run, in groups), Large support ships.

Weak Against: Bomber groups, Heavy Bombers. Rated Warships (if caught)

I try to make all my ships suitable for use in survival PvP and I'm trying to achieve some sort of balance between vessels to allow for multiple fleet builds, if you use my ships and find a good combination or a bug/problem, let me know.

Hey, i like the visual design of yours, but some of your ships are "unoptimised"
i've modifed the jackal frigate - cut the polycount to one third of the original, plus some more stuff:

you are free to use it, all credit for it is yours!
modified version are much easier to use for eveday needs....

Sorry, Mecra, slight misunderstanding on my part. Yea, you do get that a bit, but I'm hoping that's not how Keen will leave it, otherwise the Large Ship Rocket Launcher is basically useless!

I find that it depends on how they are used. Flying straight toward an enemy while firing can cause problems. Firing whilst the ship is perpendicular to it's trajectory seems ok, but only if the top of the ship is facing the destination. Basically, if you use the tactics hinted at in the description, you'll be ok.

How do the massive quantity of rockets work out? I've read that the rockets can actually destroy rockets behind them with the blast radius. Thus you shouldn't shoot in quick succession, or group them up like you have on the ship.
