Phantasy Star Online 2: Rappy

Description
READ DESC BEFORE COMMENTING

Hey, we've had the ability to port things from this game since 4 years. But i noticed no one has done it In ANY game at all . Some popular people like CaptainBigButt[facepunch.com] wanted to port models from this game, but just never found how or knew it was possible. (Judging that post is from around 2011. seriously, the dates in the Facepunch forums are like, A TIME PARADOX!)

With all of that out the way, i'm here to announce that I, took time to suffer, look for the files, export them and import them into blender, and ported. the one and only:

I'm so happy i finally actually got a chance to use that .GIF omfg. Also does this mean i'm the first person to port something from PSO2 to another game?

Since i'm probably gonna get bombarded with questions, i might as well write a guide on how i ported this: I used DeICEv4[www.cheatpso.com] to extract the game files. I selected the bulk option because 1. It was faster 2. It doesn't crash when extracting the large files. Then after that i used Noesis[richwhitehouse.com] with the plugin by XenTaX user chrrox[forum.xentax.com] I opened the model in Noesis and exported it as an .FBX. Once i did that i put it into Blender, Resized it to a proper size, Did a collision model, did the bodygroups, and finally exported it as a .SMD. Then i used VTFedit to convert the .DDS textures to .VTF, did the .VMTs in notepad++ and wrote the .QC, used Crowbar to compile the model, and then used GMPU to upload this. NOTE: I ONLY LINKED THE HARD ONES TO FIND

Any question that were not answered there? Hit me with a comment!

Oh yea, also it has 4 bodygroups for the eyes and an extra blood covered crappy Skingroup that is a inside joke. and MIGHT be hard to pose due to the fact i decided to keep the orignal skelly

Pso2 is owned by sega and so is the model i ported by the way.

@DBZWii09 I have a surefire way of porting player models, but they are in multiple components, the only one so far that I have ported as a ragdoll (not on workshop) is Shiva

Some people are already working that. While i have a very negative personal opinion on them, they're already working on it and what they're doing is acceptable.

if this could be ported to GMod, think of what would happen if players' in-game avatars or NPCs from PSO2 were made available for GMod. just a thought :fhappy:

I'll pay you in £ if you port Nyau to Gmod! <3

God bless you, this means we could start to rip models without "arks-layer's tools" this is awesome

Ah man. Imagine someone making skins for all the PSO1 classes. The body groups could serve like the sliderbars to customize your character. That'd be so wacky. Kireek and Montegue for the win.
I'm not saying that guy has to be you, but still congrats for giving PSO2 some love. Matoi would be proud of you, ARKs.

I would try the demo, but the problem is I assume the demo doesn't include all the costumes/outfits/accessories the game holds and I have a very specific setup of my character I want. Hmmmm I want to try Ninjaripper but currently Ninjaripper doesn't even work for me when I try it with GodEater so I'm too afraid to try with PSO2 since Gameguard might end up getting me banned. Still appreciate the reply wasn't expecting one from an almost year old post.

i havent even atempted recently again, but if you really badly want it, you might just create its face in the demo and then work with that. alternetavely you can try hacking it in yourself, Ninjaripper actually uses DX injection/wrapping. and someone made reshade work with pso2, so idk you could try doing that to get the model.

I know I'm here almost a whole year later, but I'm here because idk where to turn anymore. I want to know if you still dabble in PSO2, and if so, if you know of any updated way to rip models from the game. I really want to grab my custom character from PSO2 so badly everywhere I look is outdated information. Yours seemed to be the most recent but you claim it's outdated as well yes? I was hoping that maybe there's a newer updated way to do it now, especially since we've evolved a bit thanks to programs like the PSO2 tweaker around. Hope to get a response from you, and hope even more that it's with good news.
