One of a series of rudimentary signs that I made signalling the entrance to various districts of my city. I named them all after early Jazz figures. These billboards are 24m wide and 8m tall with about 20m height to top. They may not have much use to others but I figured that I would upload them to the workshop anyways. I have a template to make new billboards with 510x170 pixel images with relative ease. If you want me to make you one of these signs let me know and I will see what I can do.

Don Byas (1912 - 1972) was a tenor saxophonist who was an essential figure in the music of the 1940s, bridging the stylistic gap between swing and bebop. He came to prominence in the Count Basie orchestra before striking out on his own, leading many spectacular combos throughout his life. Check out Count Basie's "Harvard Blues" and Don Byas' "Laura".
