Cataph's - The Berbers: unit expansion

Description
== Updated for Desert patch ==

Warning: I haven't played R2 for years, can't check full functionality in campaign.
________________________________________________________________
“It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had”
woooohoooo.

Now that we have been properly introduced by Toto, let’s get to business.

This is a unit expansion and reskin pack for the berber factions. That is to say, Gaetuli, Masaeslyslsysly (damnit, from now on, "Those M Guys"), Garamantians and Nasamones. Yes, those last two were also Berbers.
I am essentially treating them as Western Berbers and Eastern Berbers, respectively the better known Numidians and the, well, shall we call them the foggara Berbers for simplicity’s sake.

NUMIDIANS
The Numidians were of course famed for their light cavalry and its agile hit&run tactics. Ancient sources agree that they had no effective infantry to speak of if we omit the few well-equipped nobles and the experiments with ‘romanized’ infantry, which were promising but never led to anything stable. As such, all the ‘heavy type’ additions in this pack are late units which are most likely not going to sustain your growth but, as it were, are going to expand your already promising regional kingdom.
As a related note, we chose to hit the mounted Numidian Nobles with a light nerfbat to even allow for meaningful new cavalry. As powerful as they are in the vanilla game, almost no balanced unit would have made sense recruiting.

EASTERN BERBERS
The Eastern Berbers are not as well known as their western cousins. What we know is that Garama was a wealthy city fueled by surprisingly effective irrigations, although time was against them and the Sahara was advancing.
From a military point of view, the Garamantians were either seen as looked-down savages and chariot-riding marauders or as not very brilliant warriors with bird plumes on their heads. Recently, some funerary findings even suggest that their sexual dimorphism was less pronounced than usual - that is, males were only slightly more heavily built than females - leading to the idea that most of their fighting was done by mercenaries. That might be an exaggeration but it’s maybe worth considering.
Less is known about the Nasamones, but we are supposing that they were a bit more ‘savage’ than their garamantian brothers were, with a stronger warrior caste and game-wise better melee units.

Sooo, a few numbers and facts:
- a total of 17 new units+naval versions with custom cards and skins.
- african elephants have been added to the numidian rosters
- five custom eastern berbers generals, two westerners grew beards
- some vanilla units rebalanced in stats and costs (downwards)
- garrison tweaks
- some Numidians get Loose Spacing to represent their skirmishing style
- removal of vestigial heavy stables from these factions (should help the AI)
- plumes! Also, beards.

Fair’s fair, the awesome garamantian warriors’ unit card was hidden in the vanilla game.

You need a faction unlock to play them in the campaign: I personally use this one.
Or Ermanarich's for HATG and IA campaigns.
I also STRONGLY recommend the Desert Temples pack from Javi_Wan.
Suffice it to say that I originally thought I had to make whole new temple chains for these factions but then I discovered his mod and I was like “hey, he got it all covered!”, so thanks dude.

COMPATIBILITY:
Other mods for this group of factions of course exist. You must pick your favourite one or, if you are able to, combine them into one tailor-made favourite combo pack, since clone units and/or bloated rosters are going to happen and that’s bad and confusing.

SPECIAL THANKS:
To Ermanarich and Dreamlore for their support. Thanks, buddies.

CHANGES COMPARED TO SCREENSHOTS STATS:
- Maures Cav are now lvl II+.
- Numidian Romanized Inf now have -5hp and -1 melee att.
- Garamantian Warriors and Champions have -5hp.

Whatever you do, remember to thumbs up or down or sideways or whatever fancies you! Everytime you don't give feedback, Manbearpig shaves a beard. Think of the beards.
