Description
Sept. 17. 1944, Operation Market Garden is on. With the British XXX Corp. rolling up Highway 69, the Garden part of the operation is already experiencing one of the many first setbacks. German resistance is stronger than expected, despite the bombardment of the German 719th Infantry's positions around the Valkenswaard area. By the end of the first day, XXX Corp only made it to the town of Valkenswaard. This map is base on on the western side of Highway 69 near an area along the Dommel River. It is a 2v2 map with three victory points mixed in with heavy cover of farm communities and open fields. The river is fordable, so be alert and on your guard.

I live pretty close to a part of this river so seing this map makes me really want to play it.
Although the river is really small here.

This is based between the Belgium border and Valkenswaard, Netherlands right at the beginning of Operation Market Garden, and yes, I am aware. I've been basing maps recently on history and google maps of the actual area. Of course, there are some artistic freedoms, since I do not have aerial photography of the area in 1944.
