Colony Miner (Vanilla)

Description
Colony Engineering ensures you will be ready for planets with the new Colony Miner...

The Colony Miner features:

2 robotic arms which are equipped with 2 drills for mining planetary ore on a high tech mobile platform.

2 batteries supply power to the rovers load requirements for a total charge time of 6 hours at max power output.

1 small trickle charge reactor for emergency power outages in the event of a stranded situation.

4 large thrusters outfitted for a jump-jet configuration best used for crossing impassable terrain, canyons, etc.

8 medium cargo containers combine to give the crew enormous cargo storage capabilities.

Artificial mass has been added for navigating terrain where natural planet gravity is not present.

Front and rear blast door bumpers which are capable of punching through large block walls without damaging Miner. (Recommended not to exceed 20 mtrs/sec during ramming sequence)

Provisions and seating for a crew of 6 personnel.

Oxygen equipped and thruster Damage friendly.

Strictly Vanilla to ensure you're ready for survival in any world you and your friends choose to play in!

The Colony Miner was designed specifically for the explorer in mind to aid in mining precious resources with maximum efficiency in remote uninhabited celestial bodies. We have thoroughly engineered and tested the Colony Miner in the most hazardous environments to ensure its reliability and it has concluded in a perfect balance between practicality and aesthetics.

Each platform is given our Colony Engineering guarantee to excel in performance light years past competitors.

Thank you for choosing Colony.

Instructions:

To use utility arms, you must first energize the rotors with the #1 and #2 keys. Since the rover does not use magnetic locks to ensure appendages are properly stowed during travel; the stowage of these arms relies on the rotor braking torque. The arms are controlled via remote control. Open the terminal and search the term "Remote". Select the corresponding remote control block for the desired arm and select "control". The operator is now is control of the appendage.

To use blast door bumpers, use the #3 key. These bumpers are essential for safe travel over inclined and declined obstacles in order to ensure the front of the rover does not come in contact with terrain and deform. These bumpers are also very useful for ramming purposes. It is not recommended to travel in excess of 20 mtrs/sec whilst ramming.

To use artificial mass, press the #4 key. Note: the use of artificial mass requires vast amounts of battery power and it is recommended the operator monitors battery voltages regularly.

To use Jump-Jets, press the #5 key. Jump-Jets are in place to assist in crossing terrain that is unnavigable. Note: These also deplete battery life rapidly.

Increased torque and turned on, still not working
egg 23 Nov, 2015 @ 4:32pm
Definitely turned on. It might be the natural gravity. I'll try that.

yea the natural gravity makes it hard to move the arms up and over. try increasing the rotor torque or something. and make sure the rotors are turned on. By defualt theyre turned off.

I can't use the arms. I'm in the camera and the remote control, but WASD and the mouse do nothing.

@cwb360killer

There is much more to come from Colony. We are currently working on a colony "Defender" platform. And much more to come after that

have you thought about a portable solar recharge pack that you can drop out side of the tunnel?
Matthew Spindler  [author] 18 May, 2015 @ 5:52am
Yea I borrowed your idea about running on batteries rather than a reactor. I think it is better.

Awesome, love the graphic.
