Couple of questions to help me fix your problem as it seems to be working fine on my end:

What mods you are using?
Are the Idols are getting the wrong promotion (like a "passion" idol with a "cool" promotion), or not getting a promotion at all?

After latest patch, 765 Idols don't receive appropriate promotions when they appear.
Will this problem be fixed soon?

While I'm writing this there will be another update soon that will show how much time is left / the amount from expending Idols.

The changes from this update are :

-Saving, and quiting will no longer cause the rest of the Idol's time to expire.
-Some core changes for a split. (Making a Haruka Civilization, but needed to do some core changes to this first.)
-The Event has a picture now
-Leader music added.
-The Idol bonus is now based on GameSpeed values rather than the gamespeed. If using a alternate gamespeed mod you wouldn't get the benefit at all before.

I'll be doing more by tomorrow. Just got some major things fixed up, and thought I should release incase I'm busy tomorrow.
