Mouse lag easy fix w/o additional tools or scripts.
By B1ackjack
An easy and super quick fix for the "lag" that happens when you press mouse buttons, it doesn't require running any software or scripts. I believe most people are aware of this solution but still want to leave it here just in case.

Removing the delay
The mouse "input lag" is actually just a delay which the game needs to detect a double click. Disabling double clicking in-game removes the delay. That's it.
If for whatever reason you've been using double clicks then yes, now you can't. But you can strike and block instantly and still use your mouse to navigate the GUI which most scripts lack (and that's probably the main advantage of KB+M controls in DS2).

Sorry if it's too obvious but when i googled mouse lag solutions i really saw only scripts and 3rd party tools so i wanted this to be here just in case there are some people who missed that setting and don't like the idea of using scripts.
In case you still have problems
Thanks to Maximum Overdrive for noting. If you feel like the lag is still there or you can't perform guard break of jump attack after restarting the game, try to open and close the mouse settings window. This seems to remind the game that double-clicking is disabled.

!Important!
Remember, in order for it to work you need to close the settings window properly which means by pressing RMB and choosing "Back" or using Backspace. Pressing Esc won't save the changes.

Guard break and jump attack both work great once you get used to it. Holding W button may help.

I still prefer a controller and suggest using one but if for whatever reason you can't/won't, i hope this helps.

I got my mind set specifically for guard breaks thru keyboard, by smashing W and R at the same time.

I would use a controller, but the benefits of the camera control are really helpful in PvP scenarios, specially when u're being attacked by more than one player at a time. It's also helpful if you're trying to make a ranged build with bows and crossbows and wanna have some accuracy.

WHY DOES THIS FIX THE LAG I HAD WITH A CONTROLLER!?! :berserk:
Thank you for this, I was about to stop playing entirely because of control issues. I am playing with an xbox one controller and I never would have thought this would help. :steamfacepalm:

Yes, that actually works, thanks for a good point!

Actually the way I've been dealing with it is that I simply open up the keybindings menu and quit it, you don't need to actually set double click from off to on again.

there seems to be a bug every time you restart the game. it forgets to apply this setting (it will say the doubleclicks are disabled when they aren't). you have to go to the keybinding menu and leave it again with RMB->back/backspace to re-apply it every time you launch the game. (afaik it hasn't been fixed yet)

also if you have complete input lag, not just the mouse, you should check if vsync is enabled, and if it is, disable it.

This combined with "How to optimise controls for PC" is what every pc player needs!!!!

Try middle mouse button for attacking. Works for me. (bound all other actions to keyboard)
