For anyone interested I've applied spiderworld mechanics to homeworld

Spiderworld1.4 requires a restart to play it, it also requires the opt-in build 11555 or greater as the 22cans devs recently added new functions to allow what I do with the wheat and ore :)

join opt-in with password 22canstester (be warned the main game\this map may have other bugs) - I don't support crashes.

To start a new game you may need to backup your
\Steam\SteamApps\common\Godus\windows\prf1* (saves folder) and delete it.
-to clarify, I suggest this method as due to the bugs in the world editor, card progress and gems seem to stick from world to world.

Key Gameplay elements:-
1. Auto belief/wheat/ore collection based on population/farms/mine via regular daily (in game days) worship events.
2. Progression based on shrines, no chests for stickers, not even any stickers!
3. New giant spider inspired map.
4. Lots of wandering champions to defeat.
5. Constant day count plus message that auto refreshes each (in-game) day, no need to close it unless its in the way.
6. 2 Astari settlements conquered via capture the flag type shrines. Beefed up the defenses in this version.
7. Some initial Gems to help out, use them wisely!
8. Manual collection of wheat and ore is possible, but it upsets your followers making them unhappy and give less at daily worship.


Recent Changes
23/March/2015 - Spiderworld1.2
--Small shrines now contain knowledge based progression items like how to build/farm etc. Large permanent temples unlock god powers.
--All shrine/temples are named with what they contain.
--All beacon require a little resource and slightly longer wait timers (just so they are not instant).
31/March/2015 - Spiderworld1.3
--Auto collection for Wheat and Ore at Harvest times and Ore Donation times.
--New message for worship events positioned at the bottom of the screen.
--Addition 100 Gems at start to play with.
--Offering multipliers are now effected by happiness, basically Happy% * Multiplier (20:10:5, Belief:wheat:ore) * population\farms\mines.
--Get Astari settlement functional plus a second raiding Astari settlement.
--Made it easier to get to all of island #3
--Fixed things multiplying every time you started playing.
05/April/2015 - Spiderworld1.4 (all spiderworld1.3 patches)
--Military Settlements now available in menu.
--When you manually collect its like your stealing from your followers and therefore they get unhappy and that effects the modifier on the daily resources.
--Also the day cycle seemed a little quick. It is now half as fast as spiderworld1.2.
--I've adjusted the map to remove some of the granite as it was causing slow down (at least it was for me).
--Changed the final island from gems(causing slow down) to a link shrine (to my future maps).
--Swapped some power temples,
--Added some swamps
--Added Astari archers to guard their bases.
--Doubled and tripled the champions at Astari bases.

Future Changes to 1.5???
Angry Astari God send a champion or meteor or swamp to a random island every 10 days after first settlement is conquered? Opinions?

-- Reordered the temples in the Temple file after some disappeared for no reason. That seems to fix the issue. EDIT: Looks like there is a temple limit :(

--Locked the astari villages from sculpting.
--Added convert Astari killed with Finger of God to Champion (could change this to multiply astari archers on death by FoG)?
09/April/2015
--Ugh lots of bugs with the FoG vs Astari, sort of fixed it, not perfect but good enough I think, now if you have finger of god active when an Astari archer dies he'll multiply by 2, so don't have Finger of god even active during attacks.
10/April/2015
--Broke the manual collection of wheat and ore causing unhappiness, fixed it, you now upset Farmers and make Miners even more cross.
--this also set Finger of God kills on enemy to respawn like for like (you as a god can't kill ANY astari with finger of god!). This is to make you attack with Military.

If you want to do it yourself edit the Influence file and update the "force on" flags to 1 and make the radius of the #Volcano entry 1000 (no there is not a real volcano, but wouldn't that be cool!).

You actually got me to start up godus! I checked and yes the shrines don't appear after beautify
:(

The reason is the devs have a temple+Shrine limit of 40 for some reason, the beacons after that are there in the config, but not visible due to this limit (I can't change it I'm afraid).


I've uploaded a file that will unlock the map if you copy it into the spiderworld folder.

TinyUpload I used before seems to keep wanting me to install crap so I tried this new file hoster it seems ok.

Oops. I thought that power upgrade was passive, not a power of its own. Got it, thanks! Now I'm stuck trying to find the expansion beacon after having gotten the beautify power. I've got a lovely little civilizatino going and it makes me wish there was more to the base game itself. :(
