Large on Small Solar

Description
This is another simple Large Ship to Small Ship mod, made for my own world but shared in case others find it useful. Here we have the Large Ship solar panel availble for small ships as a 'Large Solar Panel'

Block size is 10 x 20 x 3, tried to get only 1 block depth but the model was not aligning right. Neatly sits on the Small Ship Armour blocks.

All other values, costs and output are the same as for the Large Ship panel, so output is equal to four normal sized Small Ship solar panels. Fewer blocks -> fewer tri's -> higher FPS (in theory)

What you want is not possible in the way you seem to want it.

You sure could make a small grid merge block that has the same model as the large grid merge block, but it would be a small grid block after all and thus only connect to other small grid merge blocks.

After all you can not connect small and large grids through merge blocks. Your only alternatives are connectors and rotors so far.

The reason for that is that merged grids become a single grid. Though there is only one size of blocks per grid, either small or large. So the size is not linked to blocks, but to the grid the blocks sit in. That means that without changing the games code a lot, what you want is not possible, otherwise it had been done already as so many people requested that over and over again already.

Could you make a large merge ship block for the small ship, so you don't get drag issues when you've got your small ship in your hanger bay?

@BlackRedDead: Not entirely sure to be honest. Could have kept on trying, but decided it was not worth the hassle TBH. It's not like you're going to be stacking these things face to face anyway! ;)

hmm... the problem with tha 1sb height, is it a model problem or on what deepend it that it doesnt align right?
(isnt there code for the alignment orientation?)
