Diverging Diamond

Description
Diverging Diamond - inverted
(highway goes over)

This is a cost saving wonder... in the real world anyways.

It's simple and leaves the skys clear. Traffic should move really well. I've noticed that with on ramps, if they don't have a good angle, they can slow traffic dramatically. This design keeps them pretty smooth. It's almost like an inverted roundabout.

If you want, you can downgrade the roads for the start of the game, then upgrade them later when you have the capacity, cash, or when highways unlock. In order to keep it freeflowing, the tiles will need to be highways.

this is a rare correctly laid out DDI (whether it is inverted or not does not matter) — except that the basic idea for a DDI is an interchange of freeway to a traffic light road (the lower road)
