Mighty Effects [Particle Enhancement Mod]
2 items
Description
This mod modifies and improves the particles of the game making them look better and give the atmosphere of war. It is recommended mostly for high end machines with particle effects set on extreme. If there are any problems please report them in the comment section. Changes that this mod does are:
- Improved fire
- Better and larger smoke stacks with increased LoD
- Better looking flaming trails
- Improved the look of flaming arrows and javelins
- Flaming projectiles emit light
- Better Water Splashes
- Blood Splatters stay longer
- Blood puffs from arrow damage
- Deployable fireballs emit light
- Longer duration of impacts
- Running and battle Dust for units on sand and dirt terrain

IMPORTANT (CA might've fixed this)
If this mod is not working properly, then it is because of Mighty Effects part 2. Its file type is not read by the launcher anymore. So you might experience really thick smoke clouds that look nothing like the previews above among other odd things. To fix this you will need to:
- Download Pack File Manager (link below).
- Right click on migthyefefcts2 file, then go to properties, then uncheck 'read only'.
- Open mightyeffects2.pack mod in PFM under the File tab
- Change the file type pack into a .movie under the File tab then Save,
- Launch the game launcher, and before playing the game, right click on mightyeffects2.pack file found in (Steam/SteamApps/common/ROMEII/data/migthyeffects2.pack)
- Go to properties, then check the box 'read only' again. This prevents the game from automatically switching the file type into a .mod instead of a .movie file type

This mod contains a movie file, which if it doesn't PROPERLY UNINSTALL when you press delete at the manager, you must go to Steam/SteamApps/common/ROMEII/data/migthyeffects2.pack then delete it from there.

Hello is it compatible with DEI 1.3.2 or new?

I've learned some things. This mod works, but it does hit your framerate. The effects look fantastic. If you're not getting the 'full' effects, you may need to TURN ON your movie script mods in the Game Menu Mod settings (it's a checkbox, off by default). I personally did not need to do the steps with the Pack File Manager listed above. I did check though just to see what it was set as, but it was set correctly as a movie file. Also, the file-path to find the mod may be in steam/steamapps/workshop/content ... sort by updated date and you should find it.

I really dig what this does for the blood, but not the dust or foot imprint things. Can we get a blood only file please. The performance hit from the dust is a bit much i think and stuff. good work on the blood though

Hello, I've followed the steps above. It seems like the mightyeffects file is already a .movie file based PFM. I've followed the steps and thick black smoke during combat is still present. It's like fire smoke and doesn't look good

Awesome mod! How might I be able to modify these packs so that the blood and arrows and javelins stay permanently forever on the ground? I've got a ton of GPU & ram headspace (4090 ftw) and all these awesome effects just disappear so fast turning an amazing immersive hellscape battlefield back into a bland video gamey field with video gamey bodies.

Looking through I don't really understand what I'm looking at and I'm not finding much online :(

Thanks again!

Monkeeyo, this needs a fix-reupload if possible, it's currently not working in any shape or form. I tried everything ><
It's not that it's complicated, but it simply doesn't work. There's either no dust or white cubes xD

If i remember correctly the folder is under a bunch of folders with what it seems to be random numbers.

Im looking for the Mighty Particles file but I cannot find it. I've looked in the comments and checked in steam/steamapps/workshop/content and the Mighty Particles file is not there. I have no way making the edit through the PFM for the mod.

Also is there a way to not have the huge dust clouds as they massively lag the game
