Description
Taotie, or the gluttonous ogre, was one of the nine sons of the Dragon in Chinese folklore. According to some legends, Taotie once had a body, but he was wicked enough to consume human flesh and was punished.



Taotie was described as a hideous monster with a cavernous mouth and Taotie masks often have no lower jaw as to appear to have a wide-open mouth with an infinite capacity for eating.
