The Rook was created to be a basic defense ship for stations and facilities. It was therefore designed to have heavy armor in all directions, giving it a decent amount of durability, but its main defensive ability comes in its offensive firepower. Its battlecannons are able to deter most threats from a distance, while autocannons and turrets can deal with any enemies that close in further.

Outside of combat, the Rook operates as a host ship for Moa Utility transports, guarding them and the mining operations that they supply. The ship is entirely battery powered, with several small reactors which it uses as emergency power, or even can be used to recharge the batteries.

***This ship is designed to be part of a series which i am calling the "Home Fleet" - these ships have gold trim to identify them, and are designed primarily to be short range craft dedicated to the defense of station and facilities. Therefore, they will often be completely or mostly battery powered, heavily armored (rather than a focus on speed and maneuverability), typically heavily armed, and also incorporate several support elements to aid facilities, such as docking and resupply functions. Also, since home fleet ships are made to operate deep within Phoenix space, they are designed to take more raw materials (using refineries and assemblers) from mining facilities rather than the fully refined ammunition and supplies that are available as standard on the field.***

Controlling the Turrets --------------------------------------------------

At the pilot console, you can turn all autocannons and all battlecannons off. This is important to do as it will prevent friendly fire from turrets that are not being manned at the time of firing. Remember that when firing a weapon, all of that weapon type on the ship are fired simultaneously, regardless of whether a turret is being operated or not. Therefore, for example. to avoid friendly fire when operating the forward autocannon turret, make sure that you turn all other autocannons off. Otherwise, the rear autoturret cannon is going to blow up the forward one which you are manning.

Each Turret operates off of rotor velocity controls (as seen in the screenshots). You can use the X-Axis rotor to turn the turret to the left or right, and reset velocity to stop the movement. The Y-Axis rotor is used to point the gun upwards or down, and reset velocity again can be used to stop the movement. Each turret has the control to turn the specific weapon (whether it be battlecannon or autocannon) on or off, and then of course the control to fire the turret's weapon.

just thought i'd pop back in and say: STILL one of my favorite ships!
looks dang good with the new visual update. some of the mods are a little funky these days but they're easily replaceable.

i'm just glad this one still loads, a lot of the other ships just fail before the game can start.

probably not. with over 100 ships i can't update them all, and especially the modded ones i'm content to just let go. imo, it's more efficient to just make new ships to replace rather than maintain outdated designs. i'm never opposed to people updating things on their own, though.

i find myself Replaceing the RC turrets with the Battleship cannons mod so i can do things with them while flying....or i can set up a flyby with other ships with guns and watch a "Fight"

use one of the connectors on the top or the bottom of the ship. ammo wont get automatically sucked to a turret until you use a turret that needs it

where do i insert the ammo.
tried the small boxes in canteen but the ammo doesn't get sucked out.
yes i have checked if the turrets are using the conveyor

fantastic ship. everything is well thought out and there is great attention to detail. the interior decorations really bring this ship to life. one of the best small capital ships i've seen, keep up the good work!
