Play as heir anytime

Description
This mod adds an always-on decision letting you switch to playing as your heir at any time. When you take the decision, an event will let you choose whether to
- Switch to them immediately as they are
- If your heir is unlanded, play as your heir in a regency with your old character as regent (the implication being that your old character is still technically ruler, but you are primarily playing as the heir)

This mod is super duper simple and should be compatible with just about anything. I made it in all of about 30 minutes for my own use and because of that it has not been extensively tested. Save before taking the decision and use at your own risk :)

Apparently a kind friend added a Chinese translation (you'll need to subscribe to both) - https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3090564070

@Emmiboo
I was a minister of the celestial empire of china. The heir I tried was either a kid or a young adult with no title.
As for the option of inheritance, I didn't see any. Was there an option??
Btw, I tried just now as a 'landed king' of the celestial empire. It worked; no inheritance before the former character died.,
I have one question though - If I designate an heir, play as him without inheriting, the former me won't designate others as heir, right? It would be a waste if the inheritance goes else where.
The goal I have in mind is playing as a younger one while the old one is alive, so that I can rank up my merit and inherit the same circuit when the old guy passes away.

Hey anyone else coming here with the CTD - I don't really play CK3 much so I haven't had time to replicate it.

Chances are it simply puts the game in an invalid state. There're a thousand ways a randomly triggered inheritance could play out and it probably is doing something weird for your particular situation, so sorry if that's the case.

If you can give me more details though then it might help me fix it, specifically
- What kind of title did your character hold when you took the decision
- What kind of title did your heir hold when you took the decision
- Did you select the option to trigger inheritance, or to play as the heir without triggering inheritance?

Is it compatible with playing as a chinese character in their unique realm? As a minister for the imperial court (unlanded), and somehow I got CTD every single time I tried this.
