Could split it into different traits, perhaps do smt like this:
1. Add an unhappiness gain per kill without the psychopath / bloodthirsty traits.
2. Psychopath removes the unhappiness gains from killing/looting corpses but doesn't decrease existing unhappiness either.
3. Bloodthirsty (or w/e you want to call the 'murderhobo' trait) will reduce unhappiness when killing but suffers unhappiness over time when not killing anything for too long.
It should not simply be a benefit for engaging in combat, but also a penalty when not engaging in it.
Might also include some kind of negative reaction with animals, showing that they sense the inner predatory nature and react to it the way they would any deadly beast. You know like that time Hannibal had the man eating hogs back down from the sheer force of his inner beast.
