Description
Play the iconic Frackin’ races — no Frackin’ Universe required.
This mod restores, updates, and expands the species once locked behind Frackin’ Universe, rebuilt for standalone use and balanced around vanilla or your favorite way to play modded Starbound.
Perfect for players who love the FU races but prefer to stay FU-free.


Included Species & Content

All species and race related content are now fully restored and functional:

Vanta / Nightar – complete with custom armor, traits, and visuals

Skath – full race support, themed gear, and pet integration

Peglaci – full custom ships and armor for all tiers, dungeons, and more

Kirhos – color-expanded and Race Traits compatible

Mantizi - Full mantizi content pre and post FU

Each race now has all their original FU-related and legacy features, re-implemented or remade for standalone play.


Massive Customization Expansion

Over hundreds of color options per species across body, markings, and hair palettes

Enhanced character creation visuals and corrected palette mapping

Improved race related and ship assets and integration for better consistency

All races now have fullbright! (Futura's Shader is not required if using OpenStarbound)


Gameplay Features

Fully integrated with Race Traits — every species has unique passive bonuses

All races have custom or thematically matched armor sets

Complete tiered ship progression for every race

All species with custom pets now spawn them correctly

Fixed multiple Perfectly Generic Items and other missing asset issues


Credits

All legacy art and assets are credited to AbsoluteXeroEX, GonDragon, Shinigami Apples, S00perEPICMsFox, Sentient Cookie, Opaque, Moonlit Comet, and the original creators of each species.
This compilation also includes original edits, updates, and new content added by myself.


About This Project

This mod is a complete restoration and enhancement of the FU-integrated species; made for those who appreciate the creativity of these races but prefer to avoid Frackin’ Universe’s heavy, incompatible overhaul.

It combines the best of FU species content, all in one clean, standalone package built to respect Starbound’s vanilla balance and aesthetic.

FU-free. Fully featured. Fan-maintained.

The Nightar are named different internally than the standalone mods. Shouldn't actually interfere with older saved characters or either versions.

And I checked the mod file more thoroughly, and noticed you deleted nightar.species file. But since Vanta is nightar's independent faction, if I remember correctly, the original Vanta Race keep the nightar.species file? Monty, Do you have special reason to delete the nightar species file?

Can we get a version that's just the FU exclusive races? I'd rather not lose my Nightar from the Nightar standalone mod

@444monty I noticed some errors I reported are not fixed yet except the codex.config.

I'll slowly reupload at the bug report section slowly, but please double check the friendlyguard npc file.

They are the most of the critical errors to make guards to die.

@SealonBoard Yeah I've been thinking of adding codices for some of the other races. Might just take some time to come up with lore accurate content haha

Monty, I'm curious about are you going to add codices on FU? I checked peglaci's codices are just the ones only have peglaci Rebirth's codices. (My current version is November 22th)

And did you fixed some errors I reported? I know the update has come, but it did not mentioned any update log.

Monty, I found the cause of why the codices's category is erased.
Can you change the codex.config.patch
file to this form?

A www. ... I loved the Rebirth's portrait on Peglaci. If I change with Peglaci's head to rebirth's face and ads fullbrigjt with purple colors, does it may cause the problem at the game?

By the way, I notice the high-fidelity codex in the feature makes the codex moves codex to different tab while using bk3k's inventory, does anyone knows how to move these codices to different tabs?
