Incap Firing Speed Fix

Description
Valve nerfed the pistols a lot between L4D1 and L4D2. They changed the model from the iconic M1911 to a small, chunky P220. They added melee weapons, which are better than the pistol in most situations. They added the Magnum, which is better than the pistol in all situations. But the biggest nerf was possibly unintentional.

When you're incapacitated, your firing speed isn't based on the usual firing speed of your gun, but rather a CVar with a set value. This is fine in the case of the Magnum, since the CVar happens to exactly match its normal firing speed. However, for the pistols it's a huge nerf. They normally fire every 0.0875 seconds, but they are instead forced to fire every 0.3 seconds. That's 3 and a half times slower, making the pistols pretty much useless when you're incapacitated.

This script fixes Valves incompetence and hatred for the pistols. The CVar will now be adjusted to match the default firing speed of your gun every time you shoot, making the pistols and Magnum fire at their respective normal speeds.

I'm not sure how it'll behave if multiple players are incapacitated and firing different weapons at the same time. It'll probably be fine.

@T626 this mod changes your incapped firing speed depending on what weapon you have, making it faster with the pistol and normal with the magnum. The one you linked just makes them both faster.

it fixes the pistols being dead worthless when you're incapped without making the magnum broken

This isn't a "fix" because its nothing is broken about it. It's the Magnum that is broken because it lacks accuracy and fire rate reduction like the Pistols have, but that's more of a oversight than a bug.

it changes it every time you fire your gun. The only time it won't work should be when you've got one teammate with pistols and one with a magnum both firing as fast as they can at the same time, and you'll probably get a firing speed halfway between the two

So it basically changes survivor_incapacitated_cycle_time cvar depending on what current secondary you have? Yeah this will not work in multiplayer.

This is actually the case for L4D1 as well. It's most likely Valve forgot to code the Magnum the same way when they made it for the sequel.
