Description
Triple 8.8cm Light Turret.

I recently discovered the joy (and frustrations) of player created turrets. Amongst my biggest grieves were the linked weapon groups sharing fire-control across the whole ship. You try to fire one turret and all similar weapons fire off a round as well. My solution was a simple small ship (thrusters , gyros and landing gear in base with battery) as a base for my preferred turret. I decided to add the reloading option via a standard Connector, allowing the “turret” to rearm, reload and recharge its battery.

The unit fits nicely in a 2*3*1 area shaping around the parent ship’s connector.

To merge the turret to the ship, follow these steps.
1. Spawn turret above the recess created
2. Go to the base and select the control panel.
2.1. Switch on the group called “Base Manuver”
2.2. Select Base Control to pilot the base
2.3. Shuffle, juggle and jaunt the base into place (please no comment on this >_<)
3. Once the turret is in place lock the landing gear in place.
4. Switch of the group called “Base Manuver” or hilarity will ensue.
The base has a spare reactor if the battery is empty.

The control (fun bits)

Please set the range of the antenna on the base is set just far enough to reach the controller.
Ensure that all separate turrets have their Control Blocks labelled clearly to ensure proper selection.
To operate, use your antenna to select the turret of choice and activate the “Turret Control Box”.

Buttons are as follow.
1: Gun Camera
2: 88mm Canons
4: Switch Guns On/Off (recommended to “Off” when reloading)
5: Lock rotors On/Off (helps with recoil on stationary targets or when traveling and not connected)
7: Connector Camera
8: Lock/Unlock Connector (ideal for travel, needed to recharge battery)
9: On/Off Connector (when not needed switch off)

To reload simply switch on the Connector on the turret, align with the ship Connector and lock. Make sure you are owner of both or this will fail.

Armament: 3x 8.8cm RaK 11 (
Elevation: -5’ / +60’
Traverse: 360’
Penetration: 3 layers of Heavy Armour in 4 salvos or less (AP Rounds)

Due to changes in the CSD Battlecannon Mod I had to rebuild the guns. The turret is still functional regardless.
