Mall Ambience - Stop 'n' Shop

Description
Something for everybody, becausecausecau̶se everybody needs something.

Adds a Public Address System to Dead Center's mall (map c1m3) with amazing deals and prices that you just can't refuse. We have what you're looking forking for.

Note: This mod is set to be compatible with Dead Center elevator music mods (file path: 'sound/elevator/elevatormusic.wav'), but only if you subscribe to the ambience mod first, as it changes the same script file.

Works on official Valve servers.

Thanks to Steam user minousmuffel for the map soundscape script modding method.

I think it would be better without the vocals sounds

goated. reminds me of Dying Light's Stuffed Turtle quarantine zone ambience.

@harley Don't worry about the sound not playing at the alarm segment, that's normal. Odd issue you're having with it, though. You could try moving the mod into your 'addons' folder, unpacking it and increasing the volume in script file until it becomes more audible. It can be tricky to find a good balance given the way this game's sound design works.

From my experience, even in the main areas it's really quiet. To the point I'd need to stop shooting and stay still to even make out what he's saying. In the hallways, I can only faintly hear it and cannot tell a single word. For me it appears completely absent during the alarm segment, however that could just be me not being able to hear it due to all the noise. Regardless, it's still a cool mod. I have no idea if it's just a me problem or the mod itself though, as I've stated the other ones sound completely fine for me.

@harley This mod is set to reduce its volume by half inside corridors and hallways that connect the mall areas. Is it equally quiet everywhere for you?

This is seemingly very quiet on my game, I'm not sure why. The other mods seem fine for me, just this one I can hardly hear.

@𝕿𝖔𝖝𝖝𝖝𝖎𝖈 Glad to hear. I hope having to keep it as a local addon isn't too inconvenient.

Works. thanks for the help man, peak mod btw.

@𝕿𝖔𝖝𝖝𝖝𝖎𝖈 If you combine these two mods into one, you'll have to create a new "sound.cache" file to make sure the game is aware of how many audio files are included. Use the "snd_buildsoundcachefordirectory " command on the console to do that before you turn the combined mods into a VPK file. If done right, they should work together after that.

The ambiance doesn't play, elevator music plays just fine. And no there isn't any console message like that, I tried loading the elevator music first and vice versa, no luck only the elevator music plays. I tried unpacking both mods and overwriting your ambiance over the elevator's ( the only overwriting files are the soundscapes_campaign1.txt and the sound.cache file) the mall ambiance played but not the elevator music.
