[B42] Water Pipes (aka Plumbing)

Description
Water Pipes (aka Plumbing) – B42 Edition
Ever wanted to plumb your base in Project Zomboid? Water Pipes lets you install pumps, run pipelines, and bring water directly from rivers, lakes, or wells into buildings and barrels. Build sprinklers for your crops, control flow with valves, and monitor output with flow meters.

This B42 rewrite is built from scratch with new features, optimizations, and improved building tools.

Features
  • Pump water from lakes, rivers, or wells.
  • Supply entire buildings with running water.
  • Fill rain barrels automatically.
  • Build sprinklers to irrigate crops.
  • Install valves and flow meters for full control.
  • Unlimited pipe length – connect anything, anywhere.

Quick Start
  1. Build a pump next to a water tile or well, make sure it has electricity, and turn it on.
  2. Lay pipes from the pump to a building or barrel.
  3. Add sprinklers for crops, valves for control, and flow meters for monitoring.
  4. Expand with forks, crossroads, or multiple pumps for a large network.

Advanced Details
Pumps
  • Must be next to a water tile (tainted) or well (fresh).
  • Require electricity; can be turned on/off.
  • Efficiency degrades over time—repair to restore output.
  • Damaged pumps may stop or catch fire—keep away from your base.
  • Charcoal can filter tainted water into fresh water.
  • Remove with a sledgehammer.

Pipes
  • Auto-connect and shape to neighbors.
  • Forking splits flow; merging increases it.
  • To go up a level, build a pipe on the upper floor first, and then on the lower floor
  • Connect to barrels or buildings by placing a pipe next to them (buildings must be original, not player-made).
  • No length limit.
  • Pipes block cars!
  • Remove with a sledgehammer.

Flow Meters
  • Install on an existing pipe.
  • Right-click to check water flow.

Valves
  • Install on an existing pipe.
  • Right-click to open/close (fully open or closed).
  • Closed sections use no water, sending more to open routes.

Sprinklers
  • Install on an existing pipe.
  • Waters crops in a 8-tile radius automatically.
  • Currently does not affect players (e.g., wet clothing).

Has anyone tested this with the March Ridge Bunker? Can you supply that base with water?

There is currently a problem between Charcoal and Wood Charcoal. The plumbing doesnt recognize Wood Charcoal as Charcoal for filtering. FYI.

so when you lay pipes do you still need to make water collectors or does this fix the interior water sources like taps and washing machines?
