The base gamemode requires CS:S. Garry's Mod itself recommends that you buy CS:S before playing.
Half-Life 2 props and textures can only carry one so far before one needs a different set. There are certain things that simply aren't available in HL2.
Yeah, yesterday was a busy day so I haven't updated the map yet.
Also, if you ever want to make your own navs in gmod, I'm fairly sure all you have to do is load the map in sandbox, type in 'nav_edit' then look at the ground beneath your feet and type in 'nav_mark_walkable' and then 'nav_generate', and that should create a new navmesh- as long as sv_cheats is set to 1.

I tried doing nav_generate but it does not work. I even resubbed this mod, for a few times.
But for the npcs thinking, I will try to ask him.
