Description
⚠️Please read installation instructions!⚠️

Uses RE_Kenshi's ability to overwrite hard coded files paths to fix bugs and mistakes in Kenshi's heightmap.

Following the correct installation process is very important for this mod, otherwise it will do nothing and waste space on your computer.

-----Installation-----
1. Install RE_Kenshi[www.nexusmods.com], this is required to allow Steam Workshop mods to overwrite hard coded file paths such as the heightmap.

2. Subscribe to Heightmap Fix and make sure it is enabled in your launcher, same as any other Workshop mod.

3. From Kenshi's main menu, open Options > Mods > RE_Kenshi Settings > Performance > select "Use Vanilla Heightmap Implementation".

-----Changes-----
-Fixed large terrain spikes around The Crater

-Fixed terrain seams in Wend, Great Desert, and Spider Plains.

-Fixed hundreds of broken pixels in Cat-Lon's Exile.

-Fixed 2x2 hole near Gut.

-Fixed 2 1x1 holes in the northwest Arm of Okran.

-Fixed 1x1 hole on the border of the Hidden Forest and Northern Coast.

-Fixed large 40x40 hole in The Pits East, near the Dead Workshop, made it look like a quarry.

-Fixed massive square which sat under the water level in the north-western portion of the map.

-----To-Do List-----
There is apparently a hole in the map somewhere in the Cannibal Plains. Haven't found it myself.

-----Technical Info-----
For vanilla Kenshi users and RE_Kenshi users who use Compressed Heightmaps, you will need to manually install from the Nexus page[www.nexusmods.com]. This is recommended if you need additional performance from RE_Kenshi heightmap compression.

This mod has a large file size due to containing an uncompressed version of Kenshi's Heightmap (512 MB). Mod pack creators, please make sure to include the correct instructions for installation so your modpack doesn't have unnecessary file bloat.

According to Cattrina, this should be compatible with other mods which also modify RE_Kenshi.json. There are only a few mods which do this, but let me know if you find any incompatibilities.

-----Credits-----
This mod is an updated version of Simple Map Fixes[www.nexusmods.com]. Thanks to Undernier for allowing me to update this mod <3

Thanks to Neman for fixing a massive square which sat under the water level in the north-western portion of the map.

Hello, can you fix a small part of terrain within the hidden forest? I have screenshots for a visual aid.

Amazing! What a difference! :D If possible could you also fix the large gash in the world between the two scout outposts in the cannibal plains? When pathing between the two scout outposts it's very awkward and doesnt look intentional the way the heightmap is cut here.

Please help, I want to level a plot of land in one location to build a large city. FCS or Shift + F12 aren't much help here. How did you do it? If it's not too much trouble, could you tell me where and how I can do this? Is it in the game folders?

@Jango, if you use the "Heightmap Fix Vanilla" download from nexus you can use the "(Recommended) Fast uncompressed heightmap" setting in Re-Kenshi because you've overwritten the file in the vanilla directory. I tested this out at the quarry and confirmed it works.

Hey Crunk,
if you have RE_kenshi installed and you use the Re_kenshi height map fix on nexus this option in the performance section are correct:
[Reccomended] Use fast uncompressed height map?

Or must be only the vanilla?

@clayoverby96 its a in game setting. go to mods, select re-kenshi, then you can choose one of three hightmaps, use the one named "use vanilla implementation".

@crunk aint dead Hi! Slightly confused about which RE_Kenshi setting to use. Im using the nexus version, but here you mention switching to "use vanilla implementation." So is that setting also used for the nexus ver?

@Crunk Aint Dead. Do you know why re-kenshi's author didn't update the mod on nexus ? It seems that these graphical issues are important.
