I'm trying to find a nice balance between quality and filesize. For standard high density buildings at least. I believe something between 1024 and 2048 is best. I know many creators go for non square textures. In order to do that I have to change my workflow so I will only do that when I know im hitting that sweetspot between quality/performance.
