Description
FINALLY, SOME GOOD ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ANIMATIONS
I HAVE LOST ALL INTEREST IN KENSHI FOR THE TIME BEING NO UPDATES RN SORRY

patch for MCA (More Combat Animation)

>be me
>get MCA
>skeletons doing flips, anime moves all over
>fighting 1v50 becomes insanely easy
>look into FCS
>obviously incomplete attacks are enabled
>ranges picked at random
>motion value nerfs for no reason
>90% of attacks blockable from 1 direction, some are even UNBLOCKABLE
>time to learn blender

this mod trims down "More Combat Animation" so each weapon only has 2-3 new attacks, 1 for katana, 0 for blunt/martial arts. no more saber zoomers, wristy twisty hacker nonsense, polearm wave clears, etc.

attacks now have ranges, MVs, blockability etc. that aligns with vanilla values

no level requirements for new techniques (this might change)


LOAD THIS AFTER MCA. NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OTHER THINGS THAT CHANGE MCA. NO IMPORT NEEDED

THINGS THAT SUCK

SABRES/KATANAS don't seem to do well when outnumbered. this was already the case in unmodded kenshi (i think?) so this won't change unless someone complains (feel free to complain)

MARTIAL ARTS - still the same as vanilla. from MY (limited) understanding, the author of MCA didn't understand how martial arts works, so this likely won't change.

BLUNT WEAPONS... i don't know how to fix this..

note that i am dumb and this is my FIRST mod - suggest ANYTHING in the comments

don't forget that the author of the original mod put in way more work than i did and is probably a cool person

I had to uninstall them all! Traitors siding with the mods! Treason!

Now we are nothing! What was the point of it all?

Have you tried looking after mods? They're monsters!

As they grow in number, so does their capacity for evil, and they won't even notice as they do it.

i lost all interest in kenshi but i bet in like 2 years i will update this idk

about the blunt weapons, I think they are cool, but I tend to not use them, unless roleplaying, the same goes to pole weapons. I think blunt should be more "brutish" maybe hitting with more impact and maybe a double strike to the head/torso should do the trick.
I also think that pole weapons should be give a distance in reach, so, IRL attacks tend to hit the wrist of the swording hand first, as it is the first option. maybe it could be an incapacitating/disarming choice. idk

how about some simple karate punches for MA (maybe that engaging "tsuki" from makoto, that frontal direct punch that closes distance just a bit)? I think that vanilla flying knee and tornado kick are too much anime for my taste and they tend to get back to iddle pose, as soons as u take the target down. the animation is dull and doesnt finish.

Only combat animation mod I've seen that retains enough of the vanilla look and feel for me. Haven't seen any weird animations, and the balance seems good so far. Great mod!

interesting idea, i'll try it out
i suggest adding an installation section to your mod description, one to detail compatibilities(clarifying what this mod modifies and where it should be put on load order) and also to clarify that an import isn't needed.
