Basics
I will be using palia-garden-planner for images.
You can use this web app to design your own gardens too.

Points to consider when planting crops:

- Every type of crop has an effect you can see on the seeds of that crop.
- A crop cannot provide this bonus to the same crop

This is why you dont see mono cultures.
The goal of course then is to give these beneficial bonuses you chose
to focus on to as many of your crops as possible.

Also remember you may be able to substitute some effects with fertilizers.

My 4 main focus points are:
- Complete hydration
- Weed prevention on bushes and trees
- Apple trees get all 4 bonuses
- Try to reduce waste (same bonuses on the same field)

If you want to focus on something else some of the layouts Im going to show
just arnt going to work for you. To that extend I want to give you one tip for
designing your own fields.

Do not let yourself be restrained by the grid. You dont have to plant a tree
in the middle of a 3x3 plot and you dont have to arrange your plots in
a 3x3 either (as we will see).

Some designs I have made (which I will not be showing since the planner
cant even handle them) dont even align the plots and have them at offsets.
( Imagine the plots arranged in line but every plot moves down by 1 square )
Just starting out?
If you just started the game and dont have bushes and trees yet,
or just dont want to use them for some reason,
there is actually a really simple layout you can use.

What you see here is 3 effects just in repeating lines.
You can do this for an entire 9 plot line and all 3 effects will cover
the entire field except the outermost 2 lines which will be missing one effect.

If you do have/ want to use bushes but no trees. Maybe youll like these 2x2 designs.

These are not perfect and obviously you can easily switch out some of these crops for others.
Im pointing this out because while I want to give you a ready made solution,
dont take these as gospel. You dont have to stick to them. There is no 'correct' solution.
Full House
Now to designs that include trees.
Any field that is left empty is irrelevant to the overall layout,
so you can plant whatever you want there.

Lets start with this simple 2x2. If you mirror it you can easily
use it for decoration in a courtyard or somesuch.

Next almost the same layout but using the leftover squares to
combine 2 of them. If you have all 9 plots this will leave you with 2 left over
that you can either stick onto this field or keep separately somewhere.

Now an easy 3x3 with 4 trees.

For the record this is the one im using right now,
just to show how insane you can make them.

But I will be switching to this one once my tree is done on this cycle.
The keen eyed may spot that this is actually also an implementation
of the 2x2 earlier, just in this case ive mirrored and rotated the second
one to put some more effects on an extra tree.
This again to demonstrate that you dont have to limit yourself to simple layouts.

I could kiss you. I tried so hard to get myself to sit still long enough to do this, and try as I might, I couldn't focus enough to make it happen. Thank you so much.
