Description
The Rowland-Class of survey ship is a deep space vessel with limited defensive capabilities but extensive utility. Equipped with 2 cargo shuttle bays and a rear hangar capable of fitting a large shuttle or 2 small fighters (such as the LF-17). The Rowland's default loadout is 2x LF-17C's and 2x Seager Shuttlepods, allowing for traversal onto planets and more extensive self-defense abilities.

As for onboard amenities, this vessel comes with a full medbay, hydroponics, a workout room, an armory, extensive crew quarters, a captain's quarters, a mess hall with a kitchen, a CIC, 2 cargo shuttle bays, and a rear hangar. As this ship is space-only and not fit for extensive combat, use of the fighters with underwing missiles and the shuttles are highly advised for self-defense, escort, and away missions on planetary and lunar excursions.

~~ Behind The Scenes ~~

I made this after I got fed up with Trek ships never being survival-friendly due to being covered in subgrids, running really bad on low-end and medium-end hardware, and having no or little survival systems (jump drives, cargo, assemblers, refineries, all that stuff). I made this to run well on medium-to-low end hardware, resulting in the interior being much more basic than my other builds. It's also fully survival-ready, though obviously can't be printed with the vehicles in its hangars.

It also took 10 hours to build and was my first-ever attempt at a Trek ship, so I'll continually refine it in the future as I experiment. I'll also be making a more combat-ready one with proper torpedoes so it can engage targets from a safe distance.

I'm aware that the hull's a bit bland, I'll be doing a visual overhaul with a refit at a later date - just didn't want to over-complicate the initial release.

Yeah I'll make a higher-fidelity version of this probably tomorrow (too much going on tonight) :)

Then I'll do a refit adding a lot more to it. When I'm more comfortable and after I get some other work done, I may make a larger ship to compliment this one. But I won't be doing much Trek stuff.

Great work! And I agree with you about the Trek ships and not being really survival friendly. Hope to see more!
