Description
Dwarf Fortress:Vampires of the Masquerade
(Temperature enabled is required for some features)
*This is a Standalone Mod it may cause world generation issues when used with other mods*
A fan, Satire based, mini campaign with three Vampire clans Gangrel,Malkavian and Tremere.

Enter the shadows as one of three vampire clans from the legendary iconic series Vampires of the Masquerade.

Clan Gangrel, the animilistic beast vampires who can take wolven form in combat.

Clan Tremere, the blood sorcerers who conjure demons to attack thier foes.

Clan Malkavian, the mad ones who summon all of your darkest fears.

Cain the father of all vampires, master of all the aspects, has gone missing. The world is bathed in chaos as kindred spread across the lands, like hungrey locusts. Kindred throughout history, have tried to avoid the final death and braver still are those who walk the darker path. Can you master the aspects?.....Can you avoid the final death?.

After a roudy night, of vicious debauchery you suddenly awaken to a quiet whisper, you hear as a shadowy figure walks away, "I'm sorry but it had to be this way". You awake born again a creature of the night with incredable powers awakening inside you.
This mini campaign starts in the time shortly after Cain first gained his powers and his kindred were slowly spreading accross the lands consuming everything in sight, before the first culling.

In the begining Cain was alone and he sired many kindred in his wake. Soon the lands were over run with kindred blood drunk and wild, killing every thing with warm blood. Thier hungers insatiable.

Start your adventure as an antediluvian vampire sired by Cain him self or someone close to him, your vampire curse not fully awakened, half alive, half dead, still lusting over the memory of your mortal life, or start your adventure as a mortal, seeking the secrets to immortality and forbidden pleasures, or braver still become a vampire hunter and do your best to vanquish Cains children.
Vampirism takes many forms, from secrets of sorcery to passing on the bloodline with actual blood, gracious vampire lord or vicious vampire tyrant what legacy will you end with....will you end ? or will you rule the kingdom of the night for all eternity? The choice is yours ....if you make the right choices.....
If you start as an outsider for any clan you will be considered Caitiff, and attacked on sight.

In fortress mode build a coven of vampire lords and ladys, newly sired and powers not fully awakened half mortal...... half immortal ............and always hungry, kindred will never feed on each other but any warm blood that visits the fort is in danger of getting on the menu.

Kindred politics are a complex, and often times down right vicious, circle of chaos. Murderous rampages are not uncommon, when the beast takes over somebody always gets hurt, Kindred are always haunted by the dead.
When your numbers begin to swell, remember to choose patsies quick as a vampire will not care who is to blame, as long, as it is not them.
Demons and Night creatures summoned to this plane by kindred, sometimes leave behind ghostly apperitions that do no harm to kindred but will instantly kill any mortal that sets thier gaze on them.(in adventure mode if you visit a fort with a mortal, a demon ghost will kill you instantly plan your trips ahead)

Vampire children are a gift from Lilith, they are rare, and sometimes diabolicly evil. Nurture to adulthood if you dare,.....if you even can, or just blaim every problem on them. (since children can never be put in jail, they make great scapegoats for vampire crime.)

Kindred are immune to the elemental effects of heat and cold, unleashing vampuric power causes a tremendous amount of heat, when a kindred gets over heated they will enter torpor or light everything on fire.

Vampire powers generate heat, lots of it, be prepared for this build everything out of stone or metal if possable. Torpor a condition brought on by heat generated by vampiric powers can and will bring your entire fort to a stand still, build big rooms with large corridors, with water cooled temples and meeting areas to keep torpor at bay as long as you can!!!

If you find your self with a torpor dominated fort you can retire then unretire the fort. Retireing resets torpor and will give you extra time to make some changes to avoid future fort lock downs. You can also disable Temperature in the games settings, if you are having a difficult time combating vampiric energys.

Vitae a mysterious substance known only to the dwarves and all kindred alike, can fuel thaumaturgy, or be consumed raw or cooked. Grow vitae plant and create blood-soaked textiles perfect for vampires, or mill it into an edible crimson dye!. In adventure mode using Thaumaturgy a form of crude magic fueled by vitae, create vitae from dead enemys to fuel adventure mode only abilities!

In Fortress mode Clans have access to Cains blood Ankh, a vitae fueled ritual that gives a fortress a nearly unlimeted source of vitae..........and power......will it bring you fortune or ruin, only time will tell.

Be sure to save often in this installment of Dwarf Fortress as every second,.... every tick,..... that flys by you are one second ....one tick away.... from all hell breaking loose.

Enter the Masquerade.

No, I got it to stop crashing during world generation by moving the mod to the top. Models were still invisible.

I don't know if this is because I've tried to install other vampire mods before? I unsubscribed from them when they didn't work the way I wanted, but wasn't aware at the time that you have to go into the files and manually delete them to truly uninstall the mod.

However, when I checked my mod folder, the Masquerade one was the only mod I found there. So I don't think they're conflicting with anything.

WOW that's really weird my mod order it's always at the bottom, so you're saying you got it to work though by doing that??
GrandMajora 22 Sep @ 6:51am
Nope, the only mod I was using was this one, and all the models associated with it were invisible.

Also, when I tried to create a world with the mod added, it would keep crashing because it says it couldn't find certain files like Sound or Graphics or stuff like that. Even when I unsubscribed and resubscribed, or verified the game cache multiple times.

The only fix I could find for that crashing was to enable the mod during World Generation, then click the UP arrows, until the mod was listed at the top of the file list, rather than on the bottom.
