Artillery Turret MKII -Goliath-

This mod item was commissioned by Fade-Sevar who requested a heavy WWII style turret that looked like an upgrade to the existing artillery turret. Fade has asked that NiteOwl Games publish the mod on Steam and Modio.

NiteOwl was just a contributor to the overall idea of the mod item. NiteOwl provided the models, coding, and custom audio. Stats and parameters were determined by the creator.

Included in this mod are the following:

Large Grid-
5x3x5 Heavy Artillery Turret
Custom Heavy Artillery Turret Ammo

Features-
LODs
Build Stages
Mirroring
Paint and Skin function
Armor Piercing
Explosive Damage

Small update to turret movement, please read patch notes.





<----- Notes ----->

  • This mod pack does have its own category in the menu. If needed, you can find items using the following:

    -Goliath
    -MKII
    -Artillery

  • Heavy Artillery Shell ammo can be found in the Large Assembler and the Industrial Assembler

  • After placing the turret, the AI targeting radius defaults to 600m - 800m depending on the size of your grid. Players will have to update the Max range for auto fire control

  • Turret idle movement default has been set to OFF

  • Small ship targeting default has been set to ON

  • Turret inventory is only large enough to hold a single 3 round salvo at a time but will pull new ammo after each barrel fires so ammo is ready for the next salvo

  • Horizontal movement maxes out at 140 degrees to either side to prevent the turret from spinning around into a wall or other block item should players place the back close to other blocks

  • Vertical movement maxes out at 35 degrees up and -5 degrees down to prevent model clipping and possible firing at other attached grid blocks

    If you run into any issues with this mod, please let us know so we can address them. We tested the current version with no issues, but that doesn’t mean running it alongside other mods will not cause unforeseen issues.

    This item does not include WeaponCore nor Vanilla+. The creator has decided to exclude them at this time. Anyone looking to add WeaponCore or Vanilla+ to this item should reach out for permission before publishing a variation mod.



    <----- Known Issues ----->

    Running this mod along with WeaponCore or Vanilla+ will break the turret and it will not target nor fire properly as those mods are not set to overwrite vanilla code, it has to be included prior to loading into a world that runs those mods.

Hello. I want to make a giant turret of 11X3X11.
I want to remake the model of the turret.But. I don't know how to make 3D models.
I want to add you as a friend and discuss with you now.
I am now using magnetic railguns instead of shells.
I want to use rectangular columns of magnetic railguns instead of the turret of the model.
Now the turret needs to shoot vertically at a 90 degree angle. But there is some overlap between the models.
This is a version that I have modified. But there is no model authorization. So it was not published on Steam.

Just wanting to balance it for my Vanilla Weapon Mod, and making it into a prototech only weapon or some encounters Im working on.

@Sunchaser - So in the game code the rotation arc starts a 0 degrees dead center, so it was set to min -140 and max 140. Negative side being left and positive side being right so the total arc was 280. But I changed that to 180 each side so the turret should now rotate 360 degrees.
