The area is well regarded for its ocean port, rail connections, coal mining, and natural beauty. The relatively flat plains of the central valley contain land ideal for farming, manufacturing, or an airport. Tunnels and bridges will be required for connecting remote areas.

The map is friendly for starting in realistic mode: the western area closest to Taipei has both a Western and Soviet customs house as well as a gravel patch. Coal and iron are available in the southern valleys, but other resources can only be found in trace amounts.

Does not require the Biomes expansion.
