Original mod notes (1.4):

Adds lots of names. Uses US Consensus Data. Currently only works for players with English set as their language.

Features:

Adds over 150k surnames
Adds first names for females and males
Adds nicknames for males, females, and unisex
Adds romanized names for most languages
Adds ability to do "international names" which mixes up names from different cultures
Adds ability to set nickname probability rate (adjusted default from 0.15, to 0.3)
Adds ability to set solid name probability rate (adjusted default from 0.10, to 0.5)

Help Wanted!

Would you like to bring you culture's rich naming history into RimWorld? Then contact me about adding more names. This mod is not limited to romanized names but so far that's the only form of names I have been able to collect in any reasonable manner.

To propose new names, please open a "Name data" issue and attach the related files: "First_Female.txt", "First_Male.txt", "Last.txt", "Nick_Female.txt", "Nick_Male.txt", and "Nick_Unisex.txt". Please only include new names in the file. I will concatenate it with the appropriate language-related files.

Acknowledgements:

Arkamedes, Zilcher, and Legless Acidancer for help naming. Special thanks to Pardeike's amazing non-destructive patching library, Harmony. Also many thanks to Dread Pirate Roberts for updating the mod to 1.4!

I've made no changes to the mod at this time, only recompiled for 1.5. I've never experienced the issue you describe, but to be honest I haven't used this heavily in some time as I have my own namer mod. I'll throw it in a list for some heavier testing.

@malnormalulo I've been using international names and it has resulted in a normal diversity of names. Honestly considering the Chinese are one of the largest cultural groups on earth right now it wouldn't be unreasonable for future rim-names to have a lot of chinese influences.

Thank you!

Many thanks for adopting this!

Any chance of looking into that longstanding issue where enabling international names results in exclusively Chinese names being used?

cool! Do you need help getting new names for the Imperial houses?
