Odd Season 8 Campaign Tweaks

Description
Season 8 Odd Tweaks
  • Amalgamation:
    • Turn on AWC skills for ALL classes.
    • Remove Rocket Launchers from the Heavy tertiary spec, making it LW Gauntlet only.
  • Auto-Set Second Wave:
    • Enable configs for default choices.
  • Choose My Class:
    • Restrict to 4 options.
    • Do NOT put the Character Pool class at the top of the list.
  • Cosmetics:
    • Disable all alien outfit choices from WOTC Tali Squadmate
    • Disable the Stormrider cloak
    • Allow up to 15 characters for names & nicknames
  • Covert Infiltration:
    • Remove the Covert Action for promotions.
    • Reduce the faction loyalty requirement before being able to recruit additional faction soldiers.
    • Reduce overall scan times from Min 10, Max 15 to Min 7, Max 10.
  • Denmother:
    • Denmother is customized to be SPOILERS from the Production Team. Congrats to them, and thank you for your tireless contributions to making this season GR8!
  • Dynamic Encounter Zones:
    • Tweak encounter zones to be less claustrophobic.
  • Enemies:
    • Buff Avatars to be scarier.
    • Chosen have more strengths at the start of the game and remove Kinetic Plating for combat length reasons.
    • Remove Gatekeeper weakness to Blue Screen Rounds.
    • Buff all Chosen HP.
    • Cap lost swarms to 5 total.
    • Buff Lost damage.
    • Remove Requiem hack rewards to keep from causing issues when using the Extended Perk Pack Full Override ability.
  • Enhanced Action Camera:
    • Add cinematic firing where camera looks at the soldier back in.
  • Expose Chosen Weakness:
    • The Covert Action will now appear after completing the first Hunt the Chosen mission.
    • Can only be completed once to give the Chosen a total of 3 weakness (Faction + initial + bonus).
  • Extended Squad Sizes:
    • Leviathan configured for 8 units + Commander.
  • Gatecrasher:
    • Odd-ified Gatecrasher. Expect heavier resistance on legendary.
  • Gene Mods:
    • Add Meld Cost to all Gene Mods.
    • Tweak localization to remove Earth animal references.
  • GTS Class Training:
    • Randomly shows 10 options instead of all classes.
  • Hidden Potential:
    • Toned down to prevent super soldiers.
  • Missions:
    • Tweak Missions Beneath Suspicion to still allow Chosen/Rulers on Supply Extractions.
  • MOCX:
    • Configure MOCX to pull only Dark VIPs and assign preferred by base class.
    • MOCX can spawn at Colonel rank in the late game.
    • Make it more likely MOCX units enter bleedout.
    • Star power ACTIVATE!
  • Point-Based Not Created Equal:
    • Smooth out the overall curve to be a smaller but positive only increase to stats.
  • Psionics Ex Machina:
    • Require Psi Grading before being able to use Psi Amps. No longer does any direct tweaks. These are handled by default configs for PExM.
  • Recruits:
    • Limit recruit list to only 2 at a time.
    • Soldier rewards cap at Captain at FL 15.
    • Hides CP class and Psi (until lab built).
  • Research:
    • Reduce Legendary difficulty research times by a few days to help keep the strategy layer moving at a good pace.
  • Soldier Conditioning:
    • Remove the ability to gain bonus perks during conditioning.
  • Starting Traits:
    • Remove chance of generating negative traits when units are recruited.
  • Tactical HUD Lag Fixes:
    • Includes configs to remove MCO conflict with Extended Information.
  • Training Restrictions:
    • MEC Troopers, Psi Grading, and Gene Modding are exclusive to each other. Each soldier gets 1 of the 3 choices.
  • Weapons:
    • Ultrasonic Lure effect reduced from 8 turns to 3, radius reduced and firing distance reduced.
    • Reduce damage of some rockets, remove requirement to arm before firing, but increase firing cost to 2 AP.
    • Disable the ability to build Tactical Nukes.
    • Reskin ballistic tier Shields to use Chimera Squad Shields.
    • Turn off Autopistol Rebalance sharing autopistols and regular pistols to everyone.
    • Add Shred to SPARK/MEC rifle and Cannons.
    • Update remove all upgrades to also strip secondary weapons.
  • World War L:
    • Remove non-junk items from Lost drops.

Character Pools
This mod also has for import the following character pools:
  • Psi Armor Uniforms: Provides cosmetic consistency to soldiers equipping the Psi Armor
  • EW EXALT Allstars: Provides all characters from the XCOM: EW campaign that was the pre-cursor to this season. All entries are marked as Dark VIP by default.
  • Complete Season 8+9 Pool & VIP: The final community submission character pools.

Alternative Mod Launcher Quick-Launch Profiles
The mod folder located at
<<STEAM INSTALL>>\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\3261923409
contains quick launch reference AML profiles that can be used to setup your local environment to play along.

This list tries to be as comprehensive as possible, but there are sure to be other minor tweaks which were missed.

I have. You should be able to use a console command to force contact with the next zone in line and then it should have everything back to normal beyond that

I have had something strange happen, After I make contact with 3-4 zones on the map, I am unable to add any more zones, not sure if you have seen this or not.

Just take your time and study each mod you want to tweak/include. Take a moment to read through your full list of included mods and if you have questions after trying something and it not working out I can recommend joining the XCOM 2 Modding Discord server and there are plenty of folks who will be willing to help with issues you may have.

OK thanks, just like some of OneGrumpyBoi S5 Tweaks and this ones. Was trying to merge some settings with each just not the greatest tech savoy person.

@clubbsfamily: The short answer is you technically could, but I advise against it. If you are using a primary collection, enable that collection, and any other mods you add above and beyond you should manually do one at a time to verify you have read and understood the impact of mutating a working collection beyond what the collection author has configured.

If we are running OneGrumpyBoi Season 5 Modlist, could we run his aml profile for his edits then if we added mods from this list run your profile afterwards to apply tweaks?

Because that one is a more difficult profile to generate. You should be able to subscribe to S8 gameplay collection, and tell AML "No" when it asks to d/l missing mods and it should allow you to still activate the gameplay list. You will then have to re-activate all of your personal cosmetic choices afterwards.

Why is there no AML profile txt file that doesn't include all the cosmetic mods? I'm not downloading the cosmetics which means I'm now going to have to sit and manually build an AML profile for a run because AML won't just load odd s8 GA-Full.txt without the cosmetics installed.
