Original Description

Inspired by the mod Realistic Darkness, this mod varies the level of darkness each night.

Moonlight
The night's illumination gradually shifts night by night. Some notable nights include:
  • New moon: The darkest nights will be at the start of each season, on the 1st. Users of Realistic Darkness will be familiar with this level of darkness.
  • Full Moon: On the 8th and 9th, the nights will resemble ordinary vanilla darkness.
  • Crescent Moons: A couple days apart from the new moon, the darkness levels will resemble about what you'd see with Realistic Darkness Lite.

What else?
This is just a graphical mod and does not touch the gameplay mechanics in any way. It can be added or removed from games at any time no problem.
It has no notable performance impact. All it does is run a few numbers to edit the weather defs' illumination configuration once per day.

Compatibility
  • This is a pure code mod and works with any and all mods that add new weather defs.
  • Save our Ship 2: Its special outer space weather has been excluded from being touched.
  • Realistic Darkness: Soft incompatibility - the two mods' darkening effects will be additive and create super-dark
  • Anomaly: Untested potential incompatibilty with anomaly

@JasonGriffen I'd say it's unnecessary

Is there a way to remove conflict with realistic darkness? Or is it unnecessary with this?

would this have less impact than realistic darkness?

@Seymoure: These are Owlchemist's mods, Ferris is just updating/continuing them (though Ferris is a pretty great fella for doing so).

Man, Ferris is kicking ass with these immersive graphics mods. first saw the scattered flames mod, then the splash mod, now this? good stuff!

@Deverz No they haven't, but they've been very busy lately! Life's just gotten in the way. A lot of the mods I see Ferris continuing are graphical so it makes sense that they'd have little to be changed / changed at all (not any hate towards Owl, again, they're really busy with life stuff currently).

Has owl left modding? I've noticed you're continuing most of their mods
