Zizo's Radar & Sonar Map (Updated)

Descripción
This system draws Radar and Sonar detection on map, to easily locate any object in Stormworks.
This is the updated version to work with the new sonars and radars.

Features
  • Radar & Sonar on one display, with detection projected on a map for easier spotting.
  • Displays relative altitude (H) of the targets.
  • Complete touchscreen controls, intuitive UI.
  • Various map coloration theme settings to choose from.
  • Compatible with most monitors sizes.

Installation
  • Look for "Radar Map V2" microcontroller in the inventory.
  • Just connect all logic nodes, make sure all sensors are placed as shown by the images.
  • Radars must be rotating clockwise
  • Narrow FOV X or high sweep speeds reduce the ability to detect small targets of the radar.
  • Make sure you change the radar range in the microprocessor to match the one of your radar.
  • For best accuracy of height measurement, place the physics sensor as close to the radar as possible.

Usage
Complete touchscreen controls
  • R: activate radar
  • S/P/A: activate sonar & switch sonar modes (Off, Passive, Active)
  • +: zoom in
  • -: zoom out
  • 1/2/3: switch between map coloration theme modes
  • Targets: hold touchscreen on the green and blue dots to display relative altitude (when avaiable).

Setup
The microprocessor offers various customisations:
  • Radar Range: change this according to what your radar estimated range is.
  • Sonar Type: choose between large and small sonar or disabled.
  • Display: switch between displaying full map or circle.
  • Default map mode: choose the map mode selected at spawn.
  • Map Color 1: choose your map coloration theme when in day mode
  • Map Color 2: choose your map coloration theme when in night mode

Cant find the vehicle/Microcontroller any idea why? I've restarted my game twice

i'm using this on my tugboat which is 40 meters long

Hello @Compu, I can't remember if the sonar had to be mirrored, but if the arrow are correct as in the picture, everything is fine.
I will add an offset setting in the future, I felt it wasn't necessary since usually the vehicle isn't as big and an exact precision isn't needed.

would u consider adding an offset option that would allow telling the microcontroller the position of the sonar and physics sensor relative to the radar so i can adjust it's calculations?

i had to mirror the sonar to get it it upside down with the positive arrow pointing to the right, is that correct?

Hello @Zizo, no problem. Thank you for the prompt response, I appreciate it. I always try to give great creations the proper attention. I think I may have mistyped my description, as I meant that, for example, if map color 1 is selected as default, then when spawned, the map erroneously displays the number 2 (while still displaying the proper map), and vice versa. It seems as if the loop (first 1, then 2, then 3, then back to 1) gets advanced by one when selecting map color 1, and reduced by one when selecting map color 2. It is simple a small bug, which only affects the numbers, not the maps themselves. Also, I love the cheese map, it's my favorite :-)

Hello @Nitty_Gritty1, thanks for the feedback. The (1,2,3) button won't have a N or D as the player can swap which is which by the color selection setting. So also the order of the colors and the default color at spawn can be different for each setup.
I'll look into the blueprint map issue, you might be the only one that noticed most of the people uses the default colors.

Hello @Zizo, this is an incredible creation, there are only two small graphical issues that I found while using it. First, the top number (1,2,3) for different map modes seems to be reversed (1 & 2) if selecting a map mode to spawn with (I personally would change it to 1,2 and n for none, or d (day), n (night), n (none)). Second, the range text is unreadable on the blueprint map, as the background is the same color. Apart from these minor issues, it seems to be amazing, can't wait to use this in my creations (with appropriate credit, of course) in the future!
