Spacer-tech Floor Tiles

Description
This mini-mod contains five spacer-tech floor tiles in the following materials: steel, silver, gold, plasteel and bioferrite. Each of these variants have unique stats balanced around the vanilla versions of these metal tiles, with elevated stats as well as costs. Think of these tiles as a hybrid between the standard metal tiles and sterile tiles, with increased cleanliness and beauty stats overall when compared with the vanilla metal tiles. As expected, these tiles take much more work to build, have higher construction skill prerequisites, and cost more materials to produce.

This was originally a personal mod for made just for myself. I like "clean" floor designs as I do many ultratech/spacer runs, and got inspired by a floor design I saw someone using that was not published on the workshop. So logically, I made it for myself to use in my runs with some adjustments. Over time as I shared my bases with friends, it has been a continual pattern that they've asked me for the floors I have been using and a copy of the mod. So, I've just decided to publish it to the workshop after creating the necessary graphics, rebalancing and adding a couple variants.

All tiles contained in this mod will appear under the default Floors category in the Architect menu after completing Smithing and Sterile Materials research. Bioferrite floors require Bioferrite Shaping research as well to build.

You can paint all the tiles in this mod! Either using the dye system from the Ideology DLC, or Dubs Paint Shop mod.

Stats
There are currently five tile variants:
  • Steel: Provides 2 beauty and 0.4 cleanliness. Costs 11 steel and 10 silver per tile.
  • Silver: Provides 6 beauty and 0.52 cleanliness. Costs 90 silver per tile.
  • Gold: Provides 13 beauty and 0.25 cleanliness. Costs 65 gold and 10 silver per tile.
  • Plasteel: Provides 4 beauty and 0.6 cleanliness. Costs 2 plasteel and 20 silver per tile.
  • Bioferrite: Provides 0 beauty and 0.4 cleanliness as well as 15 containment strength. Costs 5 bioferrite and 15 silver per tile. Additionally unlike Bioferrite Plate, these tiles are not flammable.

All tile variants have a work to build time of 1300 ticks (21.6 seconds), a cleaning time factor of 0.6, and the same research prerequisites listed in the description. They all also have a construction skill prerequisite of 7.

Compatibility
  • No known incompatible mods currently.
  • Should be safe to add to save games. TerrainDefs are especially problematic to remove from Rimworld saves at times, and is not recommended. Should you attempt, please use Dev Mode to remove all on the map and then use Owl's Mid Game Saver mod to do this.
  • Not tested for multiplayer mod compatibility, but I do not see why this would not work with how this mod functions currently.
  • Yes, it works with Combat Extended.

Rimworld is owned by Ludeon Studios.
