WIP North Stormarn WIP

Welcome to North Stormarn, an ambitious project brought to life by my brother and me in February 2024. Our goal is to create a 16x16 km map, capturing the essence of Stormarn, a district in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany.


Initially, our team consisted of just my brother (Schlabberlachs) and me. We have been collaborating on various projects for years. Recently, we enlisted the help of a talented level designer, our good friend Herowitcher, to support us in this endeavor.


The map covers the area between Lübeck in the west and Bad Oldesloe in the east, featuring around 30 villages and the small town of Reinfeld. To enhance gameplay, we've transformed the southern part of the landscape into a coastal area.

• Expansive Terrain: Explore a vast and varied landscape, including urban areas, rural villages, and wilderness.
  
• Rich Lore: Discover hidden secrets and lore scattered throughout the map.
  
• Interactive Environment: Engage with a world that reacts to your actions and decisions.
  
• Military Installations: Includes a military base in the eastern forest and additional fictional locations like the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Kaserne, the Neustadt yacht harbor, and the Eckernförde naval base for enhanced gameplay.

We aim for a high level of detail, with hand-drawn textures and carefully crafted landscapes based on Google Maps and Google Streetview data. The flat northern German landscape is dotted with various vantage points, such as radio towers and hunting stands, allowing players to survey the surroundings from elevated positions.

Every location, whether it's a town, village, farmhouse, or industrial site, is designed with meticulous attention to detail, creating environments reminiscent of shooter games like Call of Duty or Battlefield.


Players spawn in the western part of the map. The goal is to equip yourself in the starting area and then move towards the center of the map. The eastern and southern areas are rich with military installations and valuable loot, encouraging exploration and progression.


North Stormarn is still in development, and we are continuously working to improve and expand the map. Your feedback is invaluable, so join our community to stay updated on the latest progress and share your ideas.


Only the sectors that are actively being worked on are listed. Other sectors have already been started and have things like completed textures or road networks. However, we will only list them once active work resumes on those sectors.
