Race doesn't determine IQ, criminality, or one's future, and just because those aren't set in stone doesn't mean that race doesn't still have meaning. Race determines the phenoytpe: physical attributes like melanin, hair texture, and the shape of the face and skull are governed by genetic traits.

All racial traits are evolutionary adaptations: blacks have darker skin to avoid getting second degree burns from constant sun exposure. Orientals have slanted eyes to protect against blinding wind and snow.

How badly did you have to fail at studying genetics to think that race isn't real?
