Airbus A300B2 Scandinavian Airlines

Description
I proudly present to you my latest creation -A Scandinavian Airlines Airbus A300B2!

This aircraft is one of big importance for the commercial aviation history as it introduced airbus for customers in a market mostly dominated by Boeing. The aircraft took it's maiden flight in 1972. Scandinavian Airlines bought this aircraft for their fleet in 1977.

This creation is based on the Scandinavian Airlines' Airbus A300B2-320 "Stig Viking" with its registration "OY-KAA". This aircraft was somewhat unique considering all the modifications it had that was requested by SAS. SAS chose to use Pratt & Whitney JT9D-59A engines instead of the General Electric GE CF6-80C2A1 as the airline were already familiar with them being used on their 747.
The airliner was later leased to Malaysian Airlines with which it met its fate in 1983 in an accident in Malaysia (Flight 784).

Start up Procedure

    1. Turn on the Main Breaker

    2. Turn on the Fuel pumps to each engine

    3. Turn on the Hydraulics

    4. Turn on the Engines

Features
  • Reverse Thrust

  • GPS Auto Pilot as well as Alt-Hold

  • Spacious Cargo Holds

  • Engine Maintenance Hatches

  • Pressurized Cabin

  • Refuelable and Rechargeable

Final Notes

  • There are batteries in the engines whose purpose is to catch fire if you want to simulate an emergency.

  • The alt-hold system may take a while to stabilize depending on speed and current altitude.

  • It's not difficult to make a tail strike with this one. Be careful.

  • The fire agent reservoirs are currently not refillable.

  • The reverse thrust only works above 2 and below 70 rps

This vehicle can only be spawned in a mission or an extended build area

This aircraft is quite performance heavy so if you have a low-end computer, consider lowering the physics

I’ve simply just shot at the battery in the engine, but then we’re talking about an engine fire on the ground. I might add a button for an in-flight fire

how do you simulate a engine fire?

Thank you! I did, as I believe you've seen, take some inspiration from your genius building techniques!
