Description
CV CPU Tier 1 Class 5, Unlock Level 10, Reforged Eden 2

Primary roles: Starter Base, Starter CV, Helios Module bay, production, farm, upgradable

Quick update 5/15/2024 - Updated storage controller 3 label and added 16K to ammo box 1 label. Both very minor updates. No other changes were made.

Quick update 5/16/2024 - Reset the pivot point and updated workshop blueprint. No other changes were made.

Update - 5/22/2024 - Fixed texture alignment issues caused by the pivot point change on the last update. Also fixed some missing textures. No other changes were made.

The Makar-ASV (Adaptive Starter Vessel) is named after 1 of the 7 sons of Helios. It is designed to start it's life as a player unlock 10 base. This creation works much like the older Janus-ASV meaning over time you can transform it into a CV base style CV carrier by adding all kinds of parts including thrusters, generators, shield, warp, and many new RE2 parts.

Upgrade Phases

Tier 1 (Stock) - Spawn on flat land as much as possible. At this point, it is a ready to go player starter base. It comes with 4x320K storage, 2x Ammo boxes (28K total ammo storage), full medical bay, 2 fridges, 2 food processors, 1 small constructor, location to add 54 grow plots, front and rear WiFi, armor locker, hangar, large landing deck, weapon locker, and o2/dispenser.

Tier 2 (Getting it air borne) - At this point you can add thrusters, generators, CPU blocks, production parts, fuel/o2, turrets, repair bay (2 locations), RE2 turbines, shield parts, please see total part upgrade list below. You will also need to add a control console (pilot seat) and optional passenger seats. Ultimately is designed to run 14 large CV thrusters and 8 CV medium thrusters. Note, you will need to remove gratings on thruster bays before adding thrusters and you can run smaller thrusters in the bays if needed. Also the Makar has 1 full Helios module bay.

When doing any upgrades, keep an eye on power and CPU. With CPU, the ship has slots to add 2 basic, 2 improved, 2 advanced, 2 superior cores, 2 quantum, and 4 auxiliary cores. With power you can add 2 1x3 generators, 1 advanced generator, and 1 small fusion reactor.

Total part upgrade list (Info LCD's in the ship will show you where all internal parts are located. You must remove the LCD before placing a part) Also you can turn on and off the info LCD's with a P menu control.

1. 14 Large thrusters (2x2x4) (Must remove grates to place)
2. 8 Medium thrusters (1x2) (Must remove grates to place)
3. 6 turrets
4. Long range radar (located on the bottom just in front of the Helios module bay)
5. Detector (located on front ceiling of hangar)
6. 2x 1x3 generators
7. 1 Advanced generator (2x2x6)
8. 1 small fusion reactor (3x3x3)

18. 54 grow plots (grow lights included)
19. 2x640K fill in storage controllers for main input and output
20. 1 universal constructor
21. 3x Constructor/deconstructor
22. 1 small constructor
23. Armor repair
24. Teleporter (assign to teleporter control)
25. Repair console and repair bay (Repair bay can be installed in hangar or on flight deck)

27. 1 pilot seat, 2x passenger seats
28. Fuzzy dice (located on rear view mirror) :)

Offense and Defense

The main hull (area around all interior areas) is made of steel as well as the 4 thruster pods. Areas beyond the interior like much of helios module bay is made of carbon substrate. The interior is also made of either cargo extensions or carbon substrate. It comes stock with 14 sentry guns, 8 top side, 6 lower locations to provide 360 degree coverage. It also has 6 3x3 turret mount points.

Stock Features Summary:

1. CV Core 1, Class 5, player unlock 10, Reforged Eden 2
2. Mixed steel and carbon substrate hull.
3. 4x 320K storage, 2x ammo boxes, 2x fridge, armor locker, front and rear wifi
4. Mid sized hangar and large flight deck
5. 54 grow plot farm with grow lights and switch(Grow plots not included)
6. 14 Sentry guns, 6 3x3 turret mount points (556 ammo)
7. 1 small constructor, full med bay, small crew room
8. Large engineering area for part placement/upgrades
9. For a full upgrade part list please see 'Total part upgrade list' above.

I hope you enjoy!

Notes: The Makar was built for Reforged Eden 2 however I don't believe there is any reason why it could not work in Refored Eden 1 or even Vanilla. The only known part that could cause an issue is the weapon locker. With that being said, the ship was built around RE2 parts such as turbines, small fusion reactor etc., and these part locations would serve no purpose in vanilla and limited in RE1.

Also, Storage LCD's which can be modified for storage contents are a little tricky to find. 2 of them are located in the production room on the center island and 2 are located on a wall in the core room above.

Boy, what a nice ship. First off, I've taken the Makar across the verse on many a planet with little ground decorations sticking out all over the place and the Makar hasn't bugged out on the terrain unlike other carriers. It's been a very reliable ship in that regard. But it's also somewhat small for a carrier and able to get next to most POIs without much issue. It's very agile, once you fit a couple plasma thrusters on her, and doesn't use fuel once you get some turbines fitted. I found space for a large radar on the side, so no real issue with that. This ship is a really great balance of size, utility, and being able to take you from the early game and being useful once you hit core 9 and beyond. I hope we see more modules for the rear end. Releasing a "template" blank module that fits the Makar would be very welcomed so people can design storage modules, farms, new miners, combat ships, etc for the Makar.

Existing storage is not expanded to 640K. But you can add 2 new 640K controllers. Look for shutters in hangar.

I would love to see some guidance on how to expand the cargoholds to 640k please

I'm not a builder at all, anyone able to tell me exactly where the thruster go specifically, my mind cant seem to figure it out, with 14 large and 8 medium.

do you have it fully built
paincakes 16 Jul @ 4:31pm
nice. recommend to spawn it in enemy territory without reading the description. :)

@Intermission all RE2 thrusters start ion and then upgradable inplace to plasma to antimatter.

You need Advanced thrusters, not large.
Intermission 14 Jul @ 9:29am
this isnt very clear, the thrusters, are these ion thrusters? the large ion thruster is a 1,3,1, the he has it listed as a 2,2,4?
qp 14 Jul @ 7:27am
@Intermission, yes, absolutely, you'll probably want to build a gravity generator asap though!

@Jrandall, when removing the extra block that's above the Basic Generator, in order to replace it with an improved one, the engineering section is no longer pressurized, as the ladder above it is not airtight. Is it designed to only hold a basic generator in that spot?
